Safe, Reliable, Good Looking and AccommodatingSource: Cars.com...My wife and I were planning on having children and were looking for a car that was safe, reliable and accommodating to our large loads such as a stroller, drums, tools etc. (obviously not all at once) and we found it. The V40 is very spacious in the cargo area and if needed, all the seats fold completely down. It feels very smooth on the road especially at highway speeds, can someone say Turbo! The only issues I have is that I wish the V40 had less hood and a bit more interior leg space, especially in the back seats. Volvo V40Source: MSN Autos...Dealer could never accurately estimate how much wear was left on the pads, therefore we replaced brake rotors often, which was expensive. The dealer explained that since we lived up in the hills, our brakes wore out a lot faster (that was bull). My other complaint is with the tires. Because of the Turbo, the V40 is rated at a top speed of 149mph, which requires the use of high performance tires, costing $150 each (even at Costco). Overall: After 50K we used an independent Volvo mechanic, who felt that the 7500 mile service intervals are too long, and that typically, Volvos should be serviced... |
