An Expensive RideSource: Edmunds
...I am a Volvo owner since 1967. Being a mechanic, I have performed most of the non-warranty work on the Volvo myself. |

Hugh SurpriseSource: Kelley Blue Book...I drove the vehicle and was totally surprised. Comfortable, quite, and a terrific ride. Six months later it just keeps getting better. The S-60 handles like a high dollar rocket at a fraction of the cost. I can work the radio and everything works better than advertised. It doesn't have the power of my M, however as a daily driver it handles fine on our highways. My wife loves it and we plan on keeping it a long time. The tech info is simple. Put gas in it and press the accelerator. The turbo will handle the rest. I have owned about 20 different cars and SUV's in my life and the S-60 has to be... |

What a great car!!Source: Cars.com...We are very proud of our blue-grayish model but have been less impressed with the more generic colors (i.e. grey, silver, white, etc.) The sound system is above average with a unique dial for the radio presets as opposed to the traditional buttons. The heated leather seats have been wonderful through the cold winter. The seats (and mirrors) also have programmable memory which is convenient for a multiple driver situation. It's a Volvo so you know its safe -- airbags everywhere it seems. I could go on forever about this car but the bottom line is the S60 is a beautiful, well-crafted... |

Great bang for the buckSource: Edmunds
...I've looked at the S60's since they came out years ago...but always thought they were overpriced in the market they competed in. |

Excellent milage for the power it hasSource: MSN Autos...I averaged over 30 MPG on a 3500 mile trip to Texas and back cruising at 80 MPH a good distance and averaging close to 70. It was so comfortable the whole trip. I have had a few repairs such as bushings and a couple of electronics but they were under warranty. I still have an issue on occasion with the door locks popping open on a door when I remotely lock it. They did switch a sensor once but a few years later it has come back. The T5 has plenty of power and this is from a guy who drives old American muscle cars. It handles great too. I am 54 so I am not a crazed driver anymore but I love... |

nice sports sedan and a deal on the 2009Source: Edmunds

The 2009 S60 lands at the entry end of the mid-size sport-sedan spectrum, where a few thousand in sticker price or a slight difference in payments might make the difference.
That said, it’s hard to justify the S60’s boost in price for ’09 when it now lines up with the sporty, redesigned Acura TL, which has a much roomier interior, plus plenty of technology and safety features.
The Saab 9-5—from Volvo’s rival Swedish brand—is perhaps the closest competitor to the S60, but the Saab is even more outdated, with a design that reaches back a full decade.
The 2009 Volvo S60 boasts better interior appointments and a better ride than the 9-5, though the (more expensive) 9-5 is more of a driver’s car—and it has a roomier backseat.
The Audi A6 is another alternative; it offers either front-wheel drive or quattro all-wheel drive and has a roomy interior that feels more upscale and exhibits a nice ride, but it’s also significantly more expensive than the others.
Those who want refinement and a stylish appearance, inside especially, should consider the Nissan Maxima.
The new Maxima isn’t at all the sport sedan it once was, but it’s comfortable—almost opulent—inside and has some of the features of pricier lux sedans.
