Great value for the dollar.Source: Edmunds...I have put 19,000 miles on this car in the five months since purchasing it and have no complaints. Peppy, comfortable, expensive looking materials, complete lack of problems and great fuel economy... |

Ok, but no bells or whistles, and just Ok.Source: Cars.com...The car is just ok. I have 83,000 miles on it now and I am looking to replace it. Everything went at 82,550; alternator, front and back brakes, control arm bushing wheel bearings and muffler! So, it's been one heck of a year of disappointment when it comes to the Golf. I would not buy this car again (I plan to look at the Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. It's the car I wanted back in 2002, but couldn't afford it so I got the Golf). Another thing about VWs. I don't know why they think a dial is a good way to recline a seat back. The dial design is a sure-fire mechanism to increase tendonitis. I... |

Forget Jetta, the Golf is the bombSource: Edmunds...I looked at Mazda Protege 5, Hyundai and Ford Focus. I purchased the car primarily for long weekend trips. Here is why the car is the best choice: 1.Cheapest Insurance rate 2.Good Power 3. Superior features for its price point (none of the competitors have 6 airbags, abs, power everything, immobilizer, anti theft and day time running lights)4.Low depreciation 5.V. Large trunk (larger than Jettas) and you can haul everything when you put the seats down. 6.Increasing popularity (sales increasing)7.Safest car in its class My advise, test drive all the competitors and see for yourself... |

Fuel economy is one of many good things!Source: Edmunds...Have had no problems whatsoever. Great looking inside and out, always draws second glances. Interior sets the standard for cars of this class and has perfect ergonomics. Seats are comfy if maybe a bit tiring on long trips. Good sound system. Performance more than adequate; won't leave sports cars behind but if you punch the gas pedal it pushes you back in your seat. Excellent fuel economy, about 500 miles/tank in city, 600 in highway; more with manual. There's pride in owning a TDI and an unspoken bond among fellow owners. Dealer service isn't the best (so I've heard) but it won't be in there... |
