SO ROOMYSource: Cars.com...The gas mileage for all this roominess and pep is amazing. I believe stability control is standard. I disagree with some who have complained about the brakes. I had an incident that really tested them. I was driving along the highway at about 70mph, light drizzle, a deer jumped out in front of us, I mean right in front of us, less than 20'. I hit the brakes hard (luckily no one was close behind me), my RAV4 just stopped, that quick. It didn't hesitate, skid or slide, even though the pavement was wet, IT JUST STOPPED. There are so many things I like about this vehicle. Now, there are a few... |

So Solid !!!Source: Cars.com...Let me tell you when i drove it home from the dealership all i was saying in my head was "what a Solid car!" it drove beautifully and handles excellent for a SUV . no rattles or creaks its hard to believe its an 8 year old car with 70 ,000 miles (Built Jan 2003) ..it drives like new . Plus its the perfect size to haul stuff and people around. The 5 speed shifts are so smooth and was surprised how quick the Rav4 gets up to speed . A drawback to some people but not for me is the sound of the exhaust ... its loud when accelerating but in a sporty way . Either way ..very happy with the purchase... |

Most Reliable Car I've Had So FarSource: Cars.com...The car is easy to drive, easy to park, and rides beautifully. With 4wd, it also easily plows through all the New England snow we get very nicely.Of course, now that my hubby and I are thinking about starting a family, I'm looking for a bigger car, as the RAV4, just with just us and our big 90 pound black lab is getting tight by the time we pack to go away on vacations. I have my eye on the Traiblazer!!!!!! :)But I do hate to trade in my Rav4, knowing how much warranty I have left (7 years, 70,000 miles) and knowing that there is simply nothing wrong with it, just that it's getting too small... |

Wanted to like but.....Source: Cars.com...There are countless people on the internet with the same issue for 2006-2007 RAV4's but Toyota refuses to pay for the issue indicating it isn't a safety issue (personally I think steering a vehicle is important enough to call it a safety issue) and therefore if you don't bring it to their attention before the 36000 or 3 year mark, it must be a wear and tear item. I've owned a lot of cars in my time but I can honestly say, I have never replaced a steering assembly in a car due to wear and tear- especially at only 30000 miles. I've determined if the parts on this car are only meant to last a... |

Most of the compact crossover vehicles now offer a choice of four-cylinder or V-6 engines, as well as front- or all-wheel drive.
The Honda and Subaru are the only exceptions.
But take a look at styling and interiors and they differ significantly.
The Ford Escape prioritizes boxy styling and a basic, square interior layout that still shows strengths versus sleeker, more rounded rivals.
It performs well, too.
The Subaru Forester became quite a bit larger with its last redesign; it still emphasizes all-weather handling over third-row utility or overt luxury.
The Honda CR-V is an excellent, very space-efficient design with plenty of room for five, and it's TheCarConnection.com's longtime pick in this class, though it's not much fun to drive, nor does it have any significant off-road ability.
Another model worth considering is the 2010 Kia Sorento—fresh off a complete redesign and to be assembled in Georgia.
The new Sorento measures up closely with the RAV4—between compact and mid-size—and promises especially nice interior appointments and a very generous feature list.
