Not bad but still short of Camry quality
Source: Edmunds

...The all new 6 is a very attractive car and for the price its loaded with features compared to Accord and Camry.
It sporty than even the Altima with a smoother nicer ride than that car but not as smooth as Camry.
Two issues I had. One after test driving there was a strong burning plastic smell. Not the typical "break in" smell you have with new cars...

Not happy
Source: Edmunds

...I bought it with about 38K miles on it. When I first took it on the highway the steering wheel shook pretty bad. The used dealer balanced all of the tires, and it did get better. A week later he put on 4 new tires and it was a vast improvement. However, approaching 45K, the rotors are warped , as I can feel pulsation when applying brakes. The car does shake again on the highway. Also the gas mileage is junk! Probably the way I drive because I went from a 6 cyl to 4, but when being conservative I only got 27mpg at best. Interior cheap and uncomfortable, paint is chipping on plastic body parts...

loved it
Source: Edmunds

...so i bought this car back in 2009 with 6k miles on it
!! now it has 47k miles on it and it still runes like new
!! i never had one single problem with this car, all i did was changing the oil every 5000 miles ( i know it should be 3000 miles) and i changed the tires at around 35K
!!! very reliable car, fun to drive, smooth steering, great response from the gas pedal and the brakes. the ONLY problem might be the blind spots caused by the big side airbag panels !!...

most reliable vehicle we have owned;
Source: Cars.com

..."we purchased our 2009 camry le 4 cylinder with 9000 miles on it in december 31, 2010; upon taking it on a road trip for the first time from northern indiana to mobile, alabama.
we got a between 35-37 miles per gallon on consistant speeds of 70-75 mph.
at that time we used shell 89 octane fuel. on the way back we used chevron 89 octane fuel, with the same results.
i would highly recommend the 89 octane when traveling on long trips, and a couple of gallons of 93 octane every know and then;"...

Why should I also consider these?

Except in sporty SE trim, the 2009 Toyota Camry has perhaps the softest, most comfort-oriented ride among mid-size sedans.

The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, however, also emphasizes ride quality and comfort, and it has more distinctive styling, equivalent performance, and more impressive materials and quality.

The Malibu also includes electronic stability control on all of its models except the base LT.

The new-for-2009 Accord has—compared to the Camry—a stunning interior, especially in the more expensive V-6 models.

The Fusion and Altima have a sportier driving feel but are a little smaller inside.

The Volkswagen Passat is another good alternative to the Camry—especially with the base 2.0T four-cylinder engine—but beware of spotty reliability.

2008 Nissan Altima
The 2008 Nissan Altima is a little sportier, though not less sensible.
