Best Suzuki Yet!Source: MSN Autos...Overall: I would say the SX4 is a well balanced, durable, and intelligent(as well as sexy)alternative to driving a fuel guzzling SUV. It has alot of features geared towards a younger generation, but is the perfect solution to needing to meet family obligations(room for groceries and kids), and hip, fun styling to make you feel young. Being a previous Suzuki Reno owner, it was exciting to find something even more alluring than the Italian styling of it's smaller sibling...and the SX4 is just fun to look at....a couple of my friends first reaction to my new SX4 was that it "looked like a cool... |

Solid vehicleSource: Cars.com...From takeoff it's a mite sluggish for a 2.0 liter but that is due to the extra weight required of the all wheel drive; a sacrifice I was willing to accept. Once up to speed it has quick acceleration in the higher gears. There is plenty of head room for taller passengers as the vehicle was built with that in mind. The one drawback is that it could use a sixth gear. The five speed idles high and I find myself reaching for the shifter for just one more. Overall, I am very satisfied with the vehicle, particularly for the price. This is one of Suzuki's best offerings. I talked to several... |

More Reliable than a VWSource: Cars.com...SX-4 is more comfortable and has a good driving position. The weakness is the 5th gear is too short meaning the car at 65 mph is running at 3500 rpms. It feels like another up-shift is needed to save gas. The gas tank is small and there is an annoying 10 and 2 o'clock blindspot. However, you will not have VW electric gremlins such as window regulators dying out, odometers lights acting funny, mass air flow sensors going bad, and coil pack failure. After 15K miles, this Suzuki is good for me!"... |

High Style and easy on the pocketbookSource: MSN Autos...BMW, Mercedes to the Civic, Corolla, Elantra, Sentra etc...and even compared to the Jetta and Volvo S40, the SX4 SE sedan was better. Has the most standard Horsepower in its class, comes with 17 in wheels and high performance low profile tires, fully loaded, CD changer (in dash), and navigation, and the best warranty 100K miles. Driving, its not a race car but ite very agile and the new 150 hp engine is a huge improvement over the 2009s, as well as the paddle shifter and the auto stick make it fun to drive even an automatic. Cons: The seat position is the only thing I think could be better... |

SX4 Upshift NightmareSource: MSN Autos...!! When I test drove this car I noticed an odd tendency to over-rev when shifting up through the gears but put it down to my unfamiliarity with the car or to the engine being cold. I have driven stick shift cars for the last 35 years and was confident that a slight adjustment in driving style would avoid any issues. How wrong I was! The SX4 has a bizarre electronic throttle linkage that unpredictably revs the engine in between gears when upshifting and no amount of adjustment in style can reliably avoid over-revving and slipping of the clutch. And forget trying to change gears quickly. Suzuki... |

Like the Suzuki SX4 Crossover, the Subaru Impreza hatchback comes with standard all-wheel drive.
But the Impreza starts more than $2,000 higher than the SX4 hatchback.
The Impreza may feel more substantial, but the two are tied for interior space.
Those torn between the SX4 sedan and hatchback might consider the Dodge Caliber, a hatchback with a more sedan-like profile and some useful convenience options.
However, all-wheel drive is no longer offered on the Caliber.
Equal to the SX4 in value for money, if not in style and cleverness, is the Nissan Versa, an especially low-priced entry with a roomy, comfortable interior and a well-equipped feature list.
