Great Little SUV
Source: Cars.com

..."I looked at about 8 different small SUVs before I decided on my Saturn Vue Hybrid and I couldn't be happier.
The Vue Hybrid offered more space, better gas mileage and a nicer appearance than all the others - at a lower price too.
I feel safe in this little truck and I can see very well all around the vehicle.
The seats are comfortable and there's plenty of room for friends, dogs, groceries - whatever. I love my new truck and would recommend this to friends without hesitation."...

THIS is one fine SUV!!!

..."What is not to like? I am a big guy and I fit easily inside.
Headroom is superb! The seats are great and everything is easily within reach.
I love the automatic climate control, the ride, the handling,
THE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS (a fabulous idea), the radio, the easy lift gate on back, the quality, the huge and deep cup holders, and the complete set of safety features.
The gas mileage is excellent (eats like a bird)...

First Hybrid

..."I bought this hybrid and i didn't know what to expect.
I really was impressed with the growl of the engine as well as it being a Hybrid.
It could be better on gas but for what it lacks in excessive gas mileage it makes up for in style. I LOVE the heated seats and the fact that it has a wood grain and leather interior."...

Why should I also consider these?

The 2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid has a lower price than the Ford Escape Hybrid—and the Tribute Hybrid and Mariner Hybrid, which are all mechanically similar to the Ford.

The Ford, Mazda, and Mercury, along with the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, all have a full hybrid system—meaning the system can propel the vehicle on electric power alone—and mileage is a bit better than that of the Vue in town.

The Ford-designed hybrids and the Toyota each have available all-wheel drive, while the Saturn's system is only offered with front-wheel drive.

The Jetta Sportwagen TDI is an intriguing alternative for those who do a lot of highway driving or have longer commutes; the clean-diesel engine shines on the highway, with real-world fuel economy well into the 40s, and the model is priced lower than any of these hybrids.

2009 Ford Escape
Though it looks decidedly old-school, the Ford Escape is a solid and stylish five-passenger, compact SUV that has been kept up-to-date.

2009 Mercury Mariner
The 2009 Mercury Mariner is an attractive and capable compact SUV, now with vastly improved performance.

2009 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen
It's been a long time coming back, but the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen gives crossover buyers something else to consider―and diesel power is on the way.

2008 Mazda Tribute
The 2008 Mazda Tribute wears a sharp new set of sheetmetal, but performance remains middling, and it still lacks a third-row option.

2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
The 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid offers the same room and amenities that the nonhybrid Highlander does, only with better fuel economy and the badge of honor that comes with driving something that's trying to be green.
