A Former Migraine Redeems ItselfSource: MSN Autos...Body-on-frame construction. Simple steering linkage. Cons: Lack of power on hills. Old twin I-beam front suspension with non-adjustable camber and caster angles. Front tire wear on outer half of tread a constant problem, requiring frequent rotation. Steering and braking qualities are only so-so. Gas tanks prone to leaks requiring replacement. Overall: This vehicle was a maintenance headache the first 3 years I owned it. Engine and tranny were replaced under warranty at 58,000 miles due to a factory defect. Much tweaking and tinkering finally resulted in good reliability. I decided to keep it... |
