Best car so far.Source: Cars.com...06 Boxster outperforms every one of these cars by a mile. I know it is not fair to compare Boxster to luxury cars like BMW, Lexus and Infinity, but I am talking about having fun in a car. Excellent handling and acceleration (even better than V8 BMW). I drive this car almost everyday and have no complaints except for some wind noise at high speed. Everything is solid as a rock and had no mechanical problems so far. Consumer Report states that 06 Boxster is the most reliable Boxster model so far. I don't know why, but it sure sounds true to me."... |

What's not to like?Source: Edmunds...The hard-top convertible gives me peace-of-mind so I can park on-street. For the first few weeks, I really missed the Porsche. But now I wouldn't go back. After adjusting to the different ride characteristics, I feel it handles as well as the Boxster and is far superior for longer drives. The AMG sport package is a must if you want a sports car experience. I've owned MG's, Triumphs, 240Z, 260Z, Porsche 911 Carrerra, Porsche 944 and Porsche Boxster (yes, I'm now an old guy.) This car is as much fun as any of my past cars, and as fast as anything I've driven... |

The BMW Z4 offers strong performance, a more passenger-friendly interior, and a standard retractable hardtop, but its bold exterior styling might be too much for some.
The TT was just restyled in 2008, with a more conservative yet still fashionable look that may appeal more to enthusiasts; it drives more like a true sportscar as well.
Nissan's new 370Z roadster has raw power, abundant traction, and its own brand of stunning looks, while Audi's TT roadster features all-wheel drive and a big V-6 among its strengths.
Purists might actually prefer the simplicity of the Mazda Miata, which eschews most of the luxury and power of the Porsche, but costs about half as much as the Boxster.
Still, with a high-revving four-cylinder engine and no-nonsense interior, the Miata has a charm of its own.
