better than my 85' town car or 97 sonomaSource: Cars.com...yes it was in terrible shape when i got it without oil, coolant or gas... but with effort just like any other car and proper routine maintenance this car will last several years. I recently crashed mine but didnt hardly damage anything but the radiator and condenser. I drove it away from the scene strong as an ox. This is also the top of the sedan for the nissan fastest, most luxury and power in torque 190 hp stock, fuel injected cylinders cant beat it for the price i wouldnt pay over 4,000$ unless its in absolute condition and i mean under the hood which is what gets you from point a to b."... |

...And the Car Just Keeps on Going!Source: Cars.com...I finally had to replace my transmission and my thermostat at 110,500 miles and the car just keeps running great! At 150,250 miles I had to replace the shocks and front power window motor on the driver's side. With regularly scheduled maintenance as recommended for milage (rotating the tires, radiator flush, hoses, plugs, and alternator belts changed), I’m on my 2nd transmission and the engine is still strong with over 265,500 miles. I just replaced the front speakers and put in a new receiver that allows me to play my Ipod. Word of advise, get the oil changed every 3,500 miles and use... |

She's a keeper!Source: Cars.com...It's very comfortable, the suspension is good and the seats aren't stiff like newer cars. I have noticed a bit of peeling on the bumper, it looks like Nissan painted it and you can see the original black color of the bumper in some places, of course this is minor. I have not had any major problems, there was a leak in the brake line that was fixed. It's been very reliable. The turning radius is not as tight as I would want it, of course this is also minor. She was top of the line in her day and well made! It's funny if you look around, there are quite a few of this model still chuggin' away... |

The 2009 Nissan Maxima appeals more readily to those looking for a perky, smooth, and stylish V-6 luxury sedan than to those wanting a sport sedan.
For the latter, shoppers might consider the Pontiac G8—especially in GT trim—or the Dodge Charger R/T, though neither of those cars has an interior that's as stylish as the Maxima's or offers the same level of appointments and tech options.
At the opposite end of the scale, for those who might want even more comfort and interior space, there's the Toyota Avalon, although it's less exciting to drive and look at.
In between, the Volkswagen Passat VR6 offers similar performance and a very attractive, comfortable interior, along with available all-wheel drive, but it's more expensive.
The newly redesigned 2009 Acura TL, which at the time of this writing hasn't yet gone on sale, also promises to be a formidable rival.
