Watch Your Transmission
Source: Edmunds

...I bought my car a little over a year ago with only 38,000 miles on it.
Since then, I have had to do regular wear and tear maintenance like replacing the starter, brakes, and so forth.
The only major thing is my transmission suddenly went out on me without warning.
And also, my top was replaced and now leaks all into the backseat of the car.
Other than that huge problem, I love riding around with the top down. The sound is awesome and I just hope I don't have any major issues with it for awhile...

Love it

...I have absolutely loved driving this car. I always receive compliments on how sharp this car looks. The only negative is when I have the top up it creates a blind spot...

Fast but not furious
Source: Edmunds

...I bought the car with 57k miles on it - hasn't even had it's first timing belt change - from the second owner.
I thoroughly enjoy the car, and it is quite quick. I would not call it "fast", but it does move pretty darn good!...

Beauty at a cost
Source: Edmunds

...I've had two 2nd gen GSXs. These cars are very nice looking, the AWD is great for performance in the snow, wet and dry.
The turbo engine has pretty good torque, but it has noticeable turbo lag and the engine runs out of breath at about 6000 RPM, so the fun power band is actually relatively narrow.
The mechanical and electrical systems on the car are far from reliable.
The dashboard design, while attractive, is ergonomically flawed as the shift lever blocks the stereo.
There are squeaks and rattles from interior panes and suspension parts, rain can leak into the cabin. If...

Underrated Car
Source: Edmunds

...I've had my Eclipse GTS Automatic for a little over 4 years and it has been a very nice car.
Bought used, still under factory bumper-to-bumper warranty, I've driven it hard (currently at 67000 miles) and have had very little issues with it.
The only problems with the car have been some electrical issues: The factory 6-CD player completely stopped working, refusing to play and making a horrible crunching sound constantly.
Mitsubishi wanted $450 to fix it, so I just replaced it with an aftermarket setup.
The switch for the passenger side window only rolls the window up, not...

A Very Reliable Girl
Source: Edmunds

...I absolutely LOVE this car! I bought this car in 1997 when it had 36,000 miles on it.
It now has 192,000 and still starts right up even on the coldest of days.
Besides routine maintenance, I have never had to dump any money into this girl.
Unfortunately, the Northeastern winters have taken their toll on the body,
as it now has extensive rust damage on the undercarriage, including a significant hole in the exhaust...but she is STILL going!
As I face the inevitable and begin shopping for a newer car, I will grieve the loss of this old friend...

One powerfull Spyder
Source: Edmunds

...This is my first Mitsubishi - a 2001 eclipse spyder convertible and I couldn't ask for a nicer ride, with lots of power.
I have done a few upgrades and wow!, this v6 kicks but, but you gotta do a couple of things to wake the motor up.
My ride has about 300 foot pounds of torque. This car is like a dream to drive anywhere.
With a sound system upgrade how could you not look an think wow a performance sounding, stereo pounding, sleek styling car...

Love my Spyder-6cyl, auto trans
Source: Edmunds

...Bought this car two years ago with only 18,000 actual miles on it.
I love it!!! Even with driving about 100 mi/wk, it has been totally reliable (no repairs).
I live in the country on a gravel road, but am able to maneuver around pot holes that form with ease, it is easily parked in tight spaces, and delightful to drive as the weather allows.
For a 2001, it still looks almost new. I "need" a fwd, but I LOVE this car! It moves! Will I trade it? Maybe in 30-40,000 more miles! That should be in about 7 years...

Fun Car!
Source: Edmunds

...My Eclipse GS has 105,000 miles (got it with 35,000).
It has been pretty reliable, besides doing some maintenance which isn't cheap.
Other than that, it is an extremely fun car to drive.
Moon roof open, windows down, it makes you feel good.
Acceleration sounds awesome, even on the highway. When you sit in the driver's seat, you know you're in a sports car. It's OK in New England winter, but AWESOME in the summer!...

Speed
Source: Edmunds

...This thing rocks and always will. I have put some money into it, but it is all for speed, so many mods, not enough time. This thing is the best - by far the greatest car ever owned...

Why should I also consider these?

The Honda Accord Coupe is the most attractive front-drive coupe from Honda; its silky V-6 and sharp road manners are worth the premium price tag.

The Hyundai Tiburon front-drive coupe gets four- or six-cylinder power and a choice of gearboxes (it's due to be replaced in 2010 with a new rear-drive Genesis coupe).

The Ford Mustang has a crisp, heritage-inspired design inside and out.

It comes in V-6 and V-8 versions, with manual or automatic transmission choices, and is offered as a convertible.

2010 Ford Mustang
Nostalgia is still a big part of the appeal, but the 2010 Ford Mustang is now every bit a modern, refined sport coupe.

2008 Honda Accord Coupe
The 2008 Honda Accord Coupe blends great looks with strong V-6 performance and good fuel economy, making it one of TheCarConnection.com’s top-rated vehicles.

2008 Hyundai Tiburon
As good as 2008 Hyundai Tiburon is, its resale value is hurt by the poor quality of earlier models. It's important that you anticipate steep depreciation before committing.
