Styling meets reliabilitySource: Cars.com
..."Is it a track car? Yes, but it is so much more. This isn't a car for someone who values comfort, a ton of horsepower, or the ability to buy groceries. |

Lotus EliseSource: MSN Autos...Car only has good power after 6000 rpms below that it lack torque and power. Overall: The car is fun to drive but not in the city. On a twisty open road its great. The car is not good for individual over 5'10" as it is difficult to get in and out of. My wife hits her head on the passenger side everytime she get in and out. I originally had the sport exhaust which was annoyingly loud and I quickly switched back to the original exhaust which is much easier to live with on a daily basis. The sport exhaust sounds tough but actually putting the stock exhaust back, the car seems to respond quicker... |

Cushty RodneySource: MSN Autos...We're all grown up now and so is the new MINI. All caps for a good reason. This car is a capital success. Rounded headlamps and fenders, so rare these days, couple with outstanding handling and German (my dad would turn) engineering. The seats are warmed, leathered and support you at every twist and turn (important to a "Baby Boomer"). Can't quite afford a new Elise? The Cooper S with everything (indulge $800 into Rally Lamps. . .heck it's only money right?), will see you smiling every time you get to go somewhere in it. Five minute trips to the store arn't enough. I find myself... |

What a JokeSource: Cars.com...For over 70k this car is an embarrassment on and off the track. For the same price, I bought Nissan's GT-R and can say with experience that the Lotus Elise has no chance against the GT-R on any track. My GTR came with AWD, 480hp, air conditioning, and leather seats for the same money as the Lotus. The Lotus comes with none of these options and an engine that barely makes 200 hp. By the way, I can also beat the Elise on the track with the Air Conditioning on full blast in the GT-R. If you want to pay over 70k and play pretend, buy the Lotus. If you want a real car, get a GT-R or even a Z06."... |
