Entry-level Luxury and Decent Performance at a very reasonable costSource: MSN Autos...I've had the vehicle for several months, and it has yet to disappoint in any serious way. I'm most pleased with styling, the decent performance, and the ability of the car to handle snow. The seats are comfortable and get hot fast in the winter. The Microsoft Sync system works well, although it occasionally misses a voice command and I need to retry. The biggest complaint is gas mileage. The AWD model is supposed to get something like 17 MPG in the city. I'm actually only getting about 14 (according to the car, I haven't manually verified yet). I do expect mileage to improve as things warm up... |

2010 MKZ FWDSource: MSN Autos...Everything else I wanted plus more was standard. Interior material, fit and finish greatly improved over previous editions. Incredibly quiet. Cons: Cargo net should be standard. Outside rear view mirrors should dip when car put in reverse. Angle of head restraints should be adjustable in addition to height. Overall: Neither the typical American land yacht like the Town Car, nor a performance enthusiasts car like BMW 3 or 5 series, Acura, etc. A well designed and executed, comfortable, roomy, car that handles well, gets good mileage with plenty of bells and whistles... |

Smooth RideSource: MSN Autos...Never have to carry CD around again - holds over 100 in memory. Cons: Nothing Overall: I had a 2007 MKZ coming off lease so I drove a bunch of cars before making this choice. CTS, G37, VWCC, LaCrosse, were all nice in their way - but the 2010 MKZ (much improved from the 2007) was by the far the most car for the money. Had the vechile 3 months and no problems. Friend bought the CTS and kicks himself everytime he is my car, he has NAV envy. Plus it is a lot quieter and smoother on the road. I tell him the CTS would be better at driving in the mountains at 30 mph over the speed limit but who... |

The front- or all-wheel-drive Lincoln MKZ might be on some Audi, Infiniti, or BMW shopping lists, but it has more in common with near-luxury vehicles from Acura, Buick, and Lexus.
The Acura TL's a good case in point; its all-wheel-drive system and big V-6 give it an uncharacteristically numb driving feel, though interior space is good.
Also, it offers shoppers tech-savvy audio and navigation options, but it's just not as appealing as the TL lineup has been in the past.
The new Buick LaCrosse is an engaging option in this class, with a striking design and compelling city-streets performance, though it's without an all-wheel-drive option, and some of its trim looks too bright and too shiny.
The Lexus ES 350 is the easy choice for non-enthusiasts; its cabin isn't too rich to be noticeable, the ride and handling aren't as numb as they used to be but are still forgettable, and the design's uninspired but innocuous.
