very nice

..."have had the Odyssey and CRV for the wife. Just bought another CRV for her at upper end of budget.
Did the comps on size and features and the Rondo was very close.
Found a 2008 with 10,000 miles for low cost and swear its better than her CRV. Have driven the Rondo on long trips out west like Yellowstone and up in the mountains. Handled fine...

Poor mileage
Source: Cars.com

..."After a year, I am still only getting 15-16 miles per gallon.
I don't know how these others are saying they are getting good mileage.
My 4 cyl Accord gets 30 city and 40 hwy. It has as much power as the v6 Rondo, but the Rondo sure uses the gas!
Other than the fuel economy, it has been a good car, now with almost 13,000 miles on it."...

Too Bad No More Rondos - I love mine!
Source: Cars.com

..."After searching high and low for a low to the ground mini-SUV, I finally found one.
I drove Toyotas and Nissans for years, but have been very pleased with my Rondo.
What I like best is that it will haul a lot of stuff or people and the visibility is far better than the others that may have a more stylish exterior.
I would buy another one in a minute. With seats folded down, there is a 5 foot long "bed". I towed a small trailer with no problem."...

Never would have expected it!

..."I was impressed with the size and room of the Kia Rondo.
Traded in an 8 passenger 1998 Montana. I'm 6'3" and stiff with arthritis.
No problems getting in and out of this Rondo. I got the V-6, EX, 7 passenger.
It's a real fun car to drive. Handles real well in snow and has enough power on all the hills around Pittsburgh.I just hope the gas mileage improves.
Maybe the 10 degree days we've been having have something to do with it. I only have 1300 miles on it so far."...

Good little car
Source: Cars.com

..."Rondo 2.4 good performance, gas mileage sensitive to load weight and speed.
3 adults & 75 mph mileage drops into the 20's. performs good in hill country.
cruise control causes hard downshift when pulling hills.
car has great storage in rear of van, drives and handles vg but does have serious blind spot when changing lanes or parking. Over all I do like this little van"...

Good Car for the Money
Source: Cars.com

..."For an inexpensive car it is very good. I like it and it fits a family of 5 in comfort.
We have had the car for two years and have never had a problem. We really like the split back seat. It adds to the luggage capacity with the third row up."...

Why should I also consider these?

There are few small people-movers in the U.S.

market, but nothing quite like the 2010 Kia Rondo.

The closest offering is the Mazda5, which has sliding doors and looks a little more like a compact minivan.

But you’re bound for surprise once you get behind the wheel of the "5"—it’s a lot peppier and fun to drive, especially with the manual transmission.

The Rondo leaves a more conservative impression, with a dowdy appearance matched with a more comfortable and quieter interior, plus a more easily reconfigurable space.

The Chevrolet HHR and Chrysler PT Cruiser are other alternatives; both offer retro styling and flexible cargo arrangements, but neither has a third-row seat.

The boxy exterior of the latest generation of the Scion xB somehow doesn’t translate to much interior space, though it is attractive and fuel-efficient.

If you want to go larger, you might take a look at the base four-cylinder version of the Toyota Venza.

It’s not significantly larger for interior space but it feels like a more substantial vehicle, and it includes a more richly appointed interior.

2010 Chevrolet HHR
The 2010 Chevrolet HHR has love-it-or-hate-it styling, but it should appeal to those who want good cargo capability in an economical ride.

2010 Mazda MAZDA5
For families looking for fuel-efficient, maneuverable, and roomy transportation—with a fun-to-drive feel—the 2010 Mazda5 is your best and only choice.

2010 Toyota Venza
Either as an alternative to a mid-size sedan or a taller crossover SUV, the 2010 Toyota Venza makes a lot of sense; it's just hard to muster much excitement.

2010 Scion xB
The 2010 Scion xB has a lot of space, polarizing looks, and lots of safety features. It provides good value for those on a budget, trendy or not.

2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser
There's no more convertible, but if you want to be seen, the 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser still lends some novelty to everyday driving.
