2011 Genesis 3.8Source: Edmunds...Truth be told, this car does not out handle the Benz. But, it has met and exceeded the benz everywhere else. The Benz had the P-1 sports package on it, so it was not very quiet on the road. This car is ultra car on the highway and all you have to do is step down with the right foot, and she is waiting to do her thing. I am truly impressed with this car in all aspects. My wife asked me if I would buy another Genesis and I told her no. She then asked what I would buy next, I told her the Equus. I can only imagine what Hyundai has in store for that car... |

WORST Ride EVERSource: Edmunds...The 2011 Hyundai Genesis is the WORST riding car I have EVER owned. It even makes smooth roads feel rough! It is no luxury to feel like you're in an airplane during extreme turbulence... |

Genesis buyers BEWARESource: MSN Autos...@ 1500 miles dealer replaced tranny under warranty because of grinding gears on 2nd and 3rd gear, after several trips to the dealer tranny still grinds, tried to talked to consumer affairs and so far no responce, do your research before buying this car, this is not an isolated problem many customers complaining with the SAME issue and Hyundai so far have not find a fix for the problem. This is from the 2010 brochure: Triple-cone synchronizers on first through third gears help ensure smooth and durable shifting, whether you’re headed up or down through the gears." Smooth??? No way it is... |

Hyundai's Home RunSource: Cars.com...While Hyundai has been accused of simply copying the best features of its high-end competitors in BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes, in Genesis they have hit the ball out of the proverbial park! The Genesis has a powerful but elegant profile, exceptionally comfortable but pragmatic interior, and hardly a week goes by that I am not asked by someone in the parking garage or neighboring gas pump: What kind of car IS that?! The only liability is the lack of traction control (and the high-performance but poor bad weather Dunlop 5000 tires) as I live in New England. But otherwise there is a nearly perfect... |

My 2009GenesisSource: MSN Autos...Gas milage ranges from 24 to 28 mpg depending on speed. At 65mpg avg about 28mpg at 70 about 24 to 25mpg. the only problem so far is the rear camera that goes out sometimes mainly caused my slaming the trunk instead of allowing gravity flow. I am amazed at the expression I get when people ask "what kind of car is that'? When I tell them its a hyundai Genesis, the expression is "oh". Not suprising because most people are hooked on name recognition. I just smile and conltinue on, I know I made the right choice for the money. Cons: Lacks name recognition but gets plenty of attention Overall: 9.8... |

Hyundai pitches the Genesis as competition for the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class--and it is, though we suspect most cross-shoppers will be looking at vehicles like the Infiniti M, which offers up V-6 and V-8 engines in a svelte, feminine body, and now comes in hybrid form.
The Lexus GS is new for 2012, and hybrids are expected to return, along with six- and eight-cylinder versions.
The Chrysler 300 is a smart alternative and even less expensive than the Genesis, and in SRT8 trim, it's a sledgehammer, bristling with HEMI power.
Finally, there's the six-cylinder, all-wheel-drive Acura TL, which couples an attractive cabin and brisk performance with a body that's the least expressive of this bunch.
