the pis poor elantraSource: MSN Autos...I get 27 mpg. I spoke and emailed Hyundai for one year about the poor milage. They told me probably 50 times that they were going to do something about the poor milage. They made the following suggestions. 1. They would buy the vehicle back. 2. They would make a one time payment to make up for the poor milage, the difference between the 35 mpg the dealer said I was sure to get and the 27 mpg I am getting. 3. A trade in allowance for a new vehicle. Well after a year a manager finally said there was NO WAY they were going to do anything. It is not Hyundai fault that the car got poor milage. In... |

Dream to Drive until the Transmission Gave OutSource: Cars.com
..."I loved my 2000 Hyundai Elantra. It got me everywhere I needed to go, it was comfortable, it got good gas mileage (until the transmission started to go), and it got me through college. |

Awesome CarSource: MSN Autos...Got more equipment for less price vs a Chevy Cruze and Ford Focus. Love the tilt telescopic steering wheel as I share the car with a short and overweight family member. In our last car, She had to sit so close to the steering wheel it was dangerous for her to drive. In this car the steering wheel can be moved in and out so she can comfortably drive. Also did internet shopping to select the dealership and buy doing the build your own I found a car similar to how I built it, actually got more equipment, and got it for $1500 less than sticker price before even arriving at the dealership. Sticker... |

very pleasedSource: Cars.com...had it one year now and have 9,500 miles on it. seats are comfortable, fun to drive, and has a huge trunk. The Bluetooth hook up was easy and can make and receive calls using buttons on steering wheel. I can hear the callers clearly and they hear me just fine too. took me 25 seconds to hook up my Iphone4s and each time I get into my 2011 elantra it automatically connects. Passangers in back seats are always saying their comfortable and have plenty of room. I say there is no downside to this car. It has had no problems for 12 months, only had it in for oil changes. The only thing I didn't like... |

Dad happy he got his daughter a Hyundai ElantraSource: MSN Autos...I wanted to get her a very safe car - she is a good driver, but LA is a dangerous place to drive. The Elantra limited was a great car that fit our budget, looks great, gets excellent gas mileage and is fun for her to drive. Some of the great features on the Elantra Limited include Bluetooth that enables her to call and receive phone calls without removing a finger from the steering wheel, sun roof, heated front and rear seats and a very long warranty. My daughter gets over 40 mpg in mixed driving and over 50 mpg in unconjested highway driving (obviously outside of LA) Cons: nothing Overall:... |

The Toyota Corolla used to be the gold standard among compact sedans.
It’s never been a very impressive performer, but in more recent years its stark interior appointments and hard, dull plastics have dragged it to the back of the pack.
The Kia Forte feels somewhat sportier than the Elantra but not quite as tight and refined inside.
While the Forte is a product of the same parent company, it’s a half-generation behind the Elantra in some respects—and assembled at a different facility altogether.
The Volkswagen Jetta, which is was redesigned for 2011, now has a standard 115-hp four-cylinder engine that’s sluggish yet doesn’t return impressive fuel economy either.
The Ford Focus is quite well-equipped and drives better than it looks (it’s due to be replaced next year), while the all-new Chevrolet Cruze has an especially roomy interior and an especially refined, mature feel; it can also come with an EPA highway rating of up to 42 mpg in Cruze Eco trim.
