2011 Elantra is WORTH the moneySource: MSN Autos...Having a hard time getting to that 40 MPG on the highway, more like 35ish . . . I'll still take it since I traded a HEMI V-8 at 17 MPG. Cons: 2011 Elantra does NOT come with ANY kind of spare tire. The salespeople REALLY need to let the customer know this so they won't be surprised on some dark lonely road. Overall: Having a hard time coming up with any negative things about this car. I guess it met or exceeded what I expected. Moved down from a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a V-8 Hemi so I kinda miss the big SUV ride but DON'T miss the poor MPG... |

Nice, except for.....Source: Cars.com...Still great MPG's, but a long way off from 40! I probably average about 32 mpg in mixed driving. Its comfortable, has a nice stereo, handles pretty well, but there are a few annoyances. The stereo sounds great, but isn't the most user friendly. The seats are reasonably comfortable, but not great. The engine isnt really powerful, but it gets the job done, although loudly when pushed. One other issue- I get a creaking when I go over bumps that seems to come from the upper frame around the drivers side window. Overall, I love the styling, am disappointed with the mpg's, but I still would... |

One great valueSource: MSN Autos...is a bit thinner then the competition Overall: When I bought my first Hyundai I bought it thinking it would be a throw a way car ( like the Yugo was ) after having the car for three years and finding that it held up as well if not better then most of the American junkers that were being produced at that time I traded it for another model Hyundai and now we have owned 4 of that companies vehicles. I have found that the Elantra seems to give the best gas milage, not so with the Tuson. We go South for the winter and have found the dealerships to all be equal in service. Really look for this... |

...I have owned Hondas for the past 10 years The main reason was that I was a Honda salesman during that time Also Honda's comfort, cost of ownership and reliability were buying factors. |

The Toyota Corolla used to be the gold standard among compact sedans.
It’s never been a very impressive performer, but in more recent years its stark interior appointments and hard, dull plastics have dragged it to the back of the pack.
The Kia Forte feels somewhat sportier than the Elantra but not quite as tight and refined inside.
While the Forte is a product of the same parent company, it’s a half-generation behind the Elantra in some respects—and assembled at a different facility altogether.
The Volkswagen Jetta, which is was redesigned for 2011, now has a standard 115-hp four-cylinder engine that’s sluggish yet doesn’t return impressive fuel economy either.
The Ford Focus is quite well-equipped and drives better than it looks (it’s due to be replaced next year), while the all-new Chevrolet Cruze has an especially roomy interior and an especially refined, mature feel; it can also come with an EPA highway rating of up to 42 mpg in Cruze Eco trim.
