The Ultimate Off and On Road VehicleSource: MSN Autos...We live in Tucson, AZ and love to go rock hounding so we have driven our H3 up some of the smaller mountains following the power lines. What a ride! Cons: My husband and I love everything about this vehicle. We really cannot find anything to dislike. What we do dislike has nothing to do with our vehicle. It has to do with all the people that think Hummers should be taken off the market. My only thought would be is they are jealous. Why such a stink about Hummers. There are other vehicles that burn equally as much gas - what about the Cadillac Escalade, the Land Rover, the F250 pickups, etc... |

HUMMER, put IT on your list.Source: MSN Autos...Gas mileage is in line with other four wheel drive SUVs in its class. Warranty is by far the best on the road. 4YR/50K miles bumper-bumper and 5YR/100K miles on powertrain. Cons: The misconception of it being a gas-guzzler. Most people, i.e. tree-huggers, don't know that it has the same or less of a carbon footprint of many "Hybrids". Overall: I am in a business that has given me the fortune, and misfortune, of driving just about everything ever made and you're running a red light if you are looking at 4WD SUV's and do not look at an H3. Price, Safety, Capability, and Warranty. AWESOME... |

The 2009 HUMMER H3T is classified as a mid-size pickup truck, so its competition is well-defined on paper.
However, as similar as these trucks look on a specification sheet, in person, the H3T's styling makes its competitors look like girlie-man trucks.
The Dodge Dakota is significantly improved in 2008 and offers two cab/bed configurations and two engine choices, including a powerful 4.7-liter V-8 matched to a five-speed automatic.
The Dakota is a solid choice, but lacks the HUMMER's styling and ultimate off-road capabilities.
Built at the same plant as the HUMMER H3T are GM's mid-size twins, and one could also cross-shop the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon.
A V-8 option is now available on these trucks, so no longer are these entries the 98-pound weaklings of the mid-size truck segment.
Then there are the imports: the six-cylinder Tacoma, Frontier, and Ridgeline.
The Toyota and Nissan (like the Dodge and Chevy/GMC) nameplates offer more variety than the HUMMER, including two-wheel-drive variations that offer real benefits every time the fuel tank needs to be filled.
