Great Safe VehicleSource: Cars.com...Both the police & fire department couldn't believe I walked away. I owe Honda my life! It is certainly a safe car! The car did what it was supposed to do - the outside metal wrinkled like a pop can but the "cage" frame didn't move & completely protected me.As far as comfort & interior design, I wish there were more options but I also had a loaded Yukon prior to this. I do wish it had better rims! Something more sporty!Once I got my confidence back after my accident, I wanted another one. Great gas mileage (35-40+)and great looking car. Overall, I would buy another one or tell my... |

Civic HibridSource: Cars.com...My car currently has 900 miles on it and already Im ready to trade it in. I will lose my butt on it but I cant stand the way it does the auto stop thing. The jerky motions of starting up. And dont even try to inch up to a parking spot, as you will most likely hit whats in front of you. I say forget the gas issue and get a regular engine. As far as interior, I hate the trip odometer as its even larger than the regular odometer. Why? Who needs it larger? Dumb. And also my Corolla had a miles to empty gage and this dumb car doesnt. I bet I keep it 6 more months"... |

The Lemon Honda Civic HybridSource: MSN Autos...They've said its fixed but even they can only get 28 mpg on the freeway and it rarely goes on autostop. They offered me $18,000 for this almost new car. Overall: The car is a lemon. Even Honda's ad for this supposedly green car as recently as last week (May 18) states that the Honda Civic Hybrid gets up to 45 mpg on the highway. Mine gets 28. Does Honda consider 17 mpg under in the up to 45 mpg range? The seats hurt and I am an avg. size person, there is no rear window wiper. The car has little paint and even a tweak from another door takes it down to the black under surface. Honda America... |

Honda lovers dream carSource: Cars.com...I average 45-55 mpg, and took a 500 mile road trip never stopping for gas.The more you drive your car, the better mileage you get, depending on your habits. The get up and go is smooth, but by no means a tire squeeler - which would defeat the hybrid purpose anyway.Sounds a little like a jet propulsion, which garners lots of attention.Inside is nearly identical to the regular Honda Civic, and for that I was a little bummed for the price difference, but let's be real, who in Florida wants leather, like the Accord model?Noted is the AC. This is the best air conditioning I have had in any car... |

The clean-diesel Volkswagen Jetta TDI delivers real-world highway fuel economy in the 40s (usually far in excess of its EPA ratings), with cleaner emissions than diesels of the past.
It's a sportier choice for highway driving.
The Civic Hybrid's stablemate, the Honda Civic GX, runs on natural gas rather than gasoline.
Though it has a rather short range, it offers good power and fuel economy, and it's actually the cleanest Civic on the road.
Plus, aside from the fueling process, you'd never know from behind the wheel that it's not a gas-engine car.
Finally, the Civic Hybrid's main rival is probably the all-new Toyota Prius, the hybrid vehicle pioneer that's now in its third generation.
The latest Prius has excellent interior room and even better fuel economy, along with hatchback utility, but its plus is the same as its minus: Everyone will know you're driving a hybrid.
