Honda in RichmondSource: MSN Autos...I looked on the internet and found lots of others with same problem but Honda considers thisoil consumption normal. All mechanics I talked to said it was rings which is exactly what I found on internet. Ended up switching out the motor for $2200 becaue the rest of the car was in excellent shape. This is not only my Honda but lots of others have reported this issue with 2003 Honda Accord 2.4 4 cylinder engine. Sometimes Hondas are not all they are cracked up to be. Also have had to replace back oxygen sensor as reported as a problem on MSN under reliability. Overall: Reliability is not good... |

Excellent VehicleSource: MSN Autos...I enjoy how roomy the front and back seats are. In early generations, no one could sit behind the driver seat because I would have the seat pushed all the way back. Head room is good - again a first for me as my head doesn't stick into the moon roof area. Overall, the car is great. Cons: - better tires - there is a lot of road noise transferred from the tires to the interior. - a USB port should be standard. - computer readout screen should hold temperature on its own or shared readout line instead of having to push the scroll button to get a reading. - back up camera should be standard for... |

Great vehicle!Source: MSN Autos...The gas mileage (24 mpg) is acceptable. During my purchase, I made sure it was a car assembled in Japan and not in the US. I still believe the Japanese Accord is better with respect to assembly. Cons: On long trips, the drivers seat is not that comfortable. I have been in the latest Accord and the drivers seat is very comfortable and I believe it would be on a long trip. I have not had any transmission problems (52,000 miles), but I have read of many people who have. I asked a Honda mechanic recently which engine size (4 or 6 cycl)he see's more tranny problmes with, and he said 6 cyclinders... |

The Best Overall Vehicle I've Ever OwnedSource: MSN Autos...Don't like the trunk lid struts that intrude into the trunk space and crush the luggage. Overall: I've owned my 2000 Accord LX 4-cylinder sedan for 7 years and 105,000 miles. It's still going strong. Burns no oil, gets average of 28 mpg, quiet and comfortable. The most amazing thing to me, after owning loads of troublesome American vehicles, is that since a fuel pump failure at 100 miles, I have had ZERO problems with the car. I change the oil every 3000 miles, and have been faithful with keeping up with maintenance schedules, which I think makes a difference too. Anyway, I strongly recommend... |

The current-generation Accord, which was introduced for 2008, finally gets a beautiful interior worthy of taking on the best in its class.
To match that, the Accord grows a little more refined without steering away from the sporty driving feel it’s always had relative to others in its class.
The Passat remains a solid competitor with its 2.0T four-cylinder engine, but spotty reliability and somewhat higher running costs lessen the appeal.
And of course the best-selling Camry is one of its top rivals; the Camry is competitive with the Accord in most respects, but its ride is more comfort-oriented and less sporty, and the quality of the interior materials is disappointing relative to the competition.
Perhaps the closest competitor to the Accord is the Altima, which provides a similar mix of sporty road manners and well-controlled ride quality, plus good styling inside and out.
The Ford Fusion competes with the sportier side of the Accord; it’s been greatly improved for 2010, thanks to a refined new base engine.
And as with the Honda, you can get the Fusion with a manual transmission.
However, the Fusion is a bit smaller.
Another top rival is the Chevrolet Malibu, which has a beautiful interior and comfortable ride but doesn’t feel quite as nimble.
Versus the Honda Accord Coupe, the only serious rival is the Nissan Altima Coupe.
Compared to the Honda, the Nissan feels a little bit sportier but also quite a bit less refined, as well as more cramped inside.
