Bring Back the Taurus Wagon
Source: MSN Autos

...I just replaced the alternator and the battery. In my many drives between Boston MA and Philadelphia, PA my Taurus has given about 25 mpg and I cruise between 75 and 78 if traffic allows. One great feature of my gray Taurus is that it looks as if it may be a police vehicle. I've had many many drivers put on seat belts and move over when I've approached them from the rear. Cons: There isn't much to dislike. It handles well, and if you drive defensively there is very little need to test the brakes to their fullest. Newer versions could add the latest helpers such as rear mirror flashers, rear...

Good all around car
Source: MSN Autos

...The exterior and interior look good for a car its age, I would definately get another Cons: Over all it is a good ride, I would give better mileage, over all I am very satisfied Overall: Reliably, handling is very good for a family car, much better then the Olds 98 , while you will not win any races it has adaquet power I have owned this GL wagon since new, I have close to 100k miles and get 19mpg all around and very close to 25mpg on the road, I have had very few issues with the car, I am on my 3rd set of tires and battery. Had a turn signal switch replaced, spark plugs and thats about it...

Good enough to buy another
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Interesting styling, Interior roominess, Comfort Cons: Gas Milage, Acceleration, touchy brakes Overall: Overall I would give this car a 8 out of 10.
Had one for five years, 65,000 miles and never had a major problem with it.
The only real complaint would be that the gas milage was less than I would have expected,
and the base 3.0 V-6 is rather anemic for the size/weight of the car- and the brakes were a bit touchy, especially when cold.
Overall was very pleased with the car, or at least pleased enough to buy another - 2003 model with the duratec V-6...

Good basic family car, but not an import
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Ford still can't, or doesn't try, to make a quality family car to match alot of the imports.
Match a Taurus up against a Camry or Accord, and the only thing the Taurus will win on is costing slightly less money.
Not a big deal for most people. Cons: Ford has never won any design or reliability contests, but the Taurus is pretty good.
The styling still looks 10 years old though. Newer designs like Chevy Lumina and Dodge Intrepid are more modern looking, offer more options, and have a classier interior.
Overall: Decent affordable family car. Average room inside.

Great car
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Great handling, fuel mileage and no mechanical problems.
Cons: It came with Firestone tires. Worst tires we ever had. They were replaced at about 10,000 miles. Overall: Most trouble free vehicle I have owned in the last ten years...

New Taurus is worth the money.
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Traded a Charger SXT for this Taurus. Wow, what a step up.
29 MPG in recent trip from coast to coast. Extremely quiet and very comfortable.
At 10,000 miles Charger starting to give problems with transmission and rear end noises which the dealer would do nothing about.
Everything running perfect at 20,000 with the Ford.
Taurus will be my next car also... Cons: The trunk opener is alittle close to the interior dimmer light switch but after one of my mistakes it is no problem.
Overall: I've always been a Chevy man but Ford got me with this one and I am not even...

Best Businessman Sedan
Source: MSN Autos

...Alachua,FL around July 98,and that time mileage was shown 32k,I kept it 9 months ,then traded to VW in Gainesville,FL area.I really loved the car.I just traded to different car, because all my friends kept telling me "this is a businessman car,why don't get a sporty car?,you still young".Well, they got me there, and I switched over to WV GTI.I had lots of memories with my Taurus.I got the best service for my Ford from Santa Fe Ford in Florida,I would very appreciated to them.Even though I modified the car little bit,car never broke down on the road.Currently,I live in San Diego,Ca.I...

Why should I also consider these?

The 2010 Ford Taurus is a big sedan with a capable performance edge.

The latest Chevrolet Malibu occupies roughly the same size class—bigger than the usual front-driver—but offers a fuel-saving four-cylinder version and a hybrid edition, though no all-wheel drive.

The Toyota Camry and Honda Accord also offer four-cylinder options; the Accord’s styling stretches the envelope like the Taurus and its handling is better than most full-size sedans, while the Camry appeals to other buyers who want more traditional styling and a more sedate driving experience.

2009 Chevrolet Malibu
The 2009 Chevrolet Malibu is a top contender in its class in almost every way.

2009 Toyota Camry
The 2009 Toyota Camry remains one of the best choices for those looking for a reliable and roomy—albeit plainly dressed—family sedan.

2008 Honda Accord Sedan
Whether you're looking for a comfy commuter in the $20,000 range or a luxurious, powerful $30,000 family sedan, the newly redesigned 2008 Honda Accord should be on your shortlist.
