REALLY reliable
Source: Edmunds

...This car has been GREAT. I bought it with about 30k miles on it and now it has 90k with very little put into it.
Give her regular oil changes and this car will just keep on going.
I had to put new tires on it, new brakes and change the lock cylinder when I bought it, but outside of that, it has been perfect.
It runs smooth and shifts beautifully. I get about 25 mpg with mostly city driving.
Sometimes when I shut the trunk it doesn't latch, but I just have to shut it again. Great car, will drive it into the ground...

Love It!
Source: CarGurus

...It's great but I've only had it for about a month now so not much to write yet...it was a great buy for the price and it is gas efficient which helps me save even more money!
And the dealership worked with me and made it a great experience...gotta love FORD!!!...

car from hell
Source: Edmunds

...I bought a Ford Focus 2003 (automatic) from a private party, used.
Only after owning and driving regularly, I noticed how poor the suspension was.
It is the stiffest suspension one can imagine. It is so bad that I bought heel support/shock absorber for my feet to heal my right heel, which is soar from all the suspension-related "beatings".
My back hurts from longer drives as well. The seat is a horror-trap, despite added pillows.
The mileage per gallon is rather poor: about 23 at the most in the city, and about 32 on the freeway.
For a 2.0 engine, this is rather weak...

This Car Saved My Wife's Life
Source: MSN Autos

...Cons: the interior left something to be desired. It was pretty basic for a 2001. Then again for what you pay for, you shouldn't expect a luxury car. It didn't get the 36 mpg highway that the dealer suggested it would. I was a little disappointed in that. Overall: I was sorry to see this car totaled in the accident. However, it did its job and kept my wife safe. If you can find one with low miles as we had, and you need, just an economical way to get around to work, school, or play, this is not a bad car for folks on a budget. If you're looking for something with a lot of bells and whistles...

Don't Buy Ford

...looks and sounds like a great car to buy after owning for a year and looking after it,
the stupid thing has started to fall apart the engine mount snapped at 10,000 miles unbelievable to be honest REALLY not good!!...

reliable, stylish, comfortable.
Source: Edmunds

...I miss my Focus, I was in an accident with a chevy silverado last summer and she was totaled.
The interior was nice, the seats were comfortable and I had no problems with it driving 1200 miles one way to visit family back east.
My problems with my Focus were the fuel pump going out at about 110,000k, the air conditioner going out at 130,000, power locks going out at 120,000.
As far as reliability, maybe I didn't have power locks there at the end but she took me to work every day for 6 years.
I'd buy another focus, same color and year if i could find one. I am now in a 2003...

Laundry List of Problems!!!
Source: Edmunds

...I bought it pre-owned through the Ford Dealership. I should have inspected it at first sight. It had two torn tires, the roof interior was covered completely in ketchup! I let that one go. Over the years, the ignition locked up, had to get that replaced, the engine gasket broke, the transmission went out completely, got that replaced $4,000 later (in March 2011), the sway bar started squeaking, now the having engine problems, the timing belt broke off, and valves need to be replaced (Sept. 2011) Mechanics quoted $2,000 for repairs...
