everything goes wrong with this car
Source: Cars.com

..."There is always something wrong with this car. I've replaced the sway bars, the ignition, two window regulators.
The airbag light is on, it has had multiple recalls, there is a leak in the power steering fluid pump, it goes out of alignment after 10 or 15 thousand miles."...

great car!
Source: Cars.com

..."i have owed this car for about a year now. I drive twice the recommended miles a year and this car has proved to be extremely great.
Only thing I would like to see is an improved engine with more horsepower (which I heard will be in the 2013 focus.)"...

European 2000 Ford Focus 1.6 Trend By B-norway
Source: CarGurus

...Awsome handling! Engine could be stronger (1.6 litre 100bhp), but car still seems quicker than other brands with same specs.
But the chassis.... love it!! Rust is a bit of a problem, but got this fixed, so mine is totally free from corrosion..
The 1998-2002 european focus is (in my opinion) the best looking focus until the 2008 models came...
I've ordered white turn signal lamps, to replace the original orange, and expect this to make one h....
of a diffference on the car's apperance. Cost of Ownweship...
Gets good gas mileage, due to the tiny engine.. About 0.6...

Focus

..."I really love this car. It was my parents car before they gave it to me.
I have had very little problem with the car other than the usual upkeep. Since we've had the car i have only had to change a 150 dollar belt, and new brake pad...it was 8years after we bought it...

So Far, I Am Completely Satisfied With The Purchase I Made.
Source: CarGurus

...I smashed the gas and it went from 50 to 90, in a snap! There are several key things that I would like to point out, but there is ONE major one that was a big selling point for me and it wasn't the dealership, nor the friendliness of the sales/financing staff. This car actually "sold itself" as soon as I sat behind the wheel. For me, a guy that stands over 6' and weighs in around 220, I feared this car would be small and uncomfortable but it wasn't at all! There's plenty of leg room and head room to go around. I can't say the same for the backseat though. Thanks FMC for yet again going above...

tires
Source: Cars.com

..."the tires that were on my ford focus were half wore out at 12000 mi.
i put a set of uniroyals on and what a defference 32 mi.
in town a jump of 4 mi. nice soft ride. i,m so happy i put a good set of tires on .
i really like my car now. why ford didn,t put good tires on there to start with. all these new cars put low grade tires on."...

High Revs, High Maneuverability, High Fun Factor
Source: CarGurus

...Acceleration: For n/a 2.3L, not bad, 6/10 (vtec's got nothin on this
!!) Braking: Still got rear drums from factory, but braking is not always needed as this car is light,
5/10 Handling: in a word, excellent, 9/10 Appearance: Not too much of a factor for me,
but its not that bad, exterior 7/10, interior 8/10 Cost of ownership: full exhaust,
injectors, intake, flywheel, 7000rpm everywhere i go, still getting 32mpg, 9/10 Fun Factor: hell yea its fun to drive!! at about 2000lbs, its a canyon carver, 9/10...

Just Love My Focus.
Source: CarGurus

...Although the model is almost 10 years old, until recent it could stand the compettion of some newer model of other producers.
This car was build by enthusiasts and the three doors hatch back just looks, well, perfect. And still serves as the inspiration for todays cars. I love my Focus...

Not a very reliable car but good in the snow.
Source: Cars.com

..."I have had this car for about 4 years and I have only had about 10 problems.
But most with the engine. The gas mileage when I bought it brand new was about 30 MPG, now that the engine is not tuned, I only get about 12MPG.
That is not very good, some diesel pickup trucks do better than that.
Overall, this car is not the best car to own, but when you can't afford anything else, this would probably be a good car for you. As long as after a while you can pay for gas at 12MPG."...

ignition problems
Source: Cars.com

..."Third ignition i had to replace since I bought the car. And Ford will do nothing about. NEVER AGAIN will I buy a Ford. Not reliable."...

Why should I also consider these?

To put it bluntly, the 2010 Ford Focus is an aging design, up against some very tough, well-updated competition.

TheCarConnection.com recently pitted South Korea's Kia Forte against the 2010 Ford Focus and the 2010 Honda Civic, and while it was a close competition, they outperformed the Ford in certain aspects.

The Civic also offers more variety than the Focus, with multiple powertrains, including hybrid and natural gas.

The 2010 Focus also has to compete against the Mazda3, a perennial enthusiast favorite for its handling and build quality.

Comparatively, the Hyundai Elantra and Dodge Caliber aren't quite up to par compared to the other members in this pack in overall refinement and style.

However, since there is no hatchback or wagon model for the Focus, the impressive Mazda3, the Toyota Matrix (which is based on the Corolla), and the Honda Fit could all present viable alternatives to the Focus.

2010 Kia Forte
The 2010 Kia Forte is a strong contender in every way—a surprisingly good-looking, enjoyable-to-drive car that will hold the budget down.

2008 Dodge Caliber
The Caliber has a very practical layout and quite a few innovative features to get excited about, but it's lacking in driving enjoyment or refinement--even compared to its low-priced competition.

2004 Honda Civic Classic
2008 Hyundai Elantra
The 2008 Hyundai Elantra doesn’t have a lot of personality, but it’s the undeniable practical choice.

2008 Mazda MAZDA3
The 2008 Mazda 3 is easily one of the best compact cars for sale in the United States.
