MPG is the only flawSource: MSN Autos...Sight out of the behemoth is liberal, though the c pillars are large. Overall: With wife-friendly options (universal garage opener, huge trunk space, navigation, hands-free integration with your bluetooth phone, seat-warmers, remote start, push-button ignition, and the list goes on and on and on), it is a machine built with the memory of the greats...rear wheel drive, four hundred and oh-my-god horsepower hemi with over 400 ft/lbs of torque, functional air dams and scoops with a huge spread of gear ratios that allow you to drive smoothly and gently...but you will in no way ever drive her... |

Perfect Pony Car For Me: Expectations FulfilledSource: MSN Autos...I 'm saving up for an aftermarket brake package. Overall: I think the Challenger is great in the R/T model. The 5.7L Hemi is plenty strong and appears to be easily upgraded with aftermarket parts. Between 3500 to 5500 rpm the engine impresses, but it also makes me think that it's no where near it's full potential. Which is just fine for me, because I really want to find where that fullest potential is myself! It cruises very nicely, with very little if any wind noise at all, making listening to the radio and having conversation easy tasks. Going 75 mph up and down even steep hills is... |

Sporty cars like the 2009 Dodge Challenger invite paper comparisons where horsepower, torque, and available performance options rise to the top of the priorities list.
This focus on performance limits the Challenger's competition to its two historical competitors (Mustang and Camaro).
Compared to these competitors, the Challenger's trunk is larger at 16.2 cubic feet, and it does have marginally more rear seat room, although none of these cars offers a truly roomy backseat.
