An Honest Opinion of the 2008 AvengerSource: MSN Autos...100% non composite, steel rotors, and porschlen brake pads. That will fix the issue. Other than that, I haven't had any problems. It has honestly been the most reliable car I've owned thus far in my life. I've owned it for two years now, and I have 40,000 miles on it. Not one repair or break down. Overall: I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a car that gets good gas mileage, and will be in their lives for quite sometime with few problems. Yes, there are lemon's out there, but you have to expect that. Don't let one lemon get you down. I had a Ford Focus that was a lemon, and I... |

I love my little carSource: MSN Autos...Overall: This car and I have been though a lot, and it hasn't given up on me. The only major maint. we've had to do was the water pump. Now, with 166,000+ miles, it is still going strong. Parts are relatively easy to find, as they are mostly the same as a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Don't expect to fit into a 'compact' parking spot because of this car's long doors, large rear bumper, and horrible turning radius. Sure, it isn't the fastest accelerating car, but it'll get up and dance if you want it to. Braking and handling are good. The noise you hear when you first go into drive or reverse (over 12... |

Good looker but bad go-erSource: Cars.com...It was babied and never driven in snow its entire life till me. It looks great and the car is somewhat reliable. I found out the hard way that the ball joints on the car are recalled. my exhaust has had 2 leaks and its all in one area that they dont make a part for anymore. I got the v6 and cant change the spark plugs due to the intake. The suspention is good for corners but do not expect smooth bumps. Paint is fading. Lots of torque in the snow so be careful. interior is great. i have noticed a leak in the ceiling that i dont know where it is coming from. Car is hard to maintain... |

The base Avenger lags far behind much of the competition because of its combination of a sorely unrefined base four-cylinder engine and interior appointments that look and feel downright cheap.
In comparison, the new Chevy Malibu's four-cylinder is much more refined and quiet, as is the Altima's.
The Sonata and Optima offer a more comfortable, hushed ride and nice interiors that feel better, even if they aren't as exciting to look at as the Avenger's.
Compared to the 2009 Dodge Avenger, the Ford Fusion feels especially sporty and nimble, and though its interior also has a basic design, the materials are better.
Roominess is one area where the Avenger does pretty well; its backseat feels capacious and has enough headroom for adults, while the backseats in several of these vehicles—especially the Altima—can be tight.
At the six-cylinder level, the Avenger R/T brings a lot of features and a sporty feel for about the same money as more sedately equipped V-6 rival models.
