Avoid GM Trash TalkSource: Edmunds...The quality at GM sucks. At 5k mi the trans. slipped. At 8k mi the heater core plugged, and 10k,,,heater core again. Dexcool was eating the seals. At 13k mi, the engine suddenly locked up, after a tow, the dealer told me the eng. was blown. GM at first would not honor the warranty,,,no surprise with Obama at the helm. Squeaks, rattles, loose, and cheap plastic trim, everywhere you look, I was disgusted. I drove this mechanical [violative content deleted] to a Subaru dealer, and bought an 09' Outback LL Bean. Wow! What a difference... |

THE BEST DEPENDABLE SUVSource: MSN Autos...EVERYTHING STILL WORKS AND HAVE HAD VERY LITTLE PROBLEMS TO DEAL WITH. I DO HOPE TO EXPECT THAT MAYBE IT WILL EVEN GO OVER THE 200,000 MILE MARK! I DO KEEP THE OIL CHANGED AS SUPPOSE TO AND DO USE THE OIL THAT IS FOR VEHICLES WITH OVER 75,000 MILES. (HI MILEAGE OIL). I DO RECOMMEND A CHEVOLET TRAILBLAZER!! I WILL PROBABLY GET ANOTHER NONE Cons: WHEN DRIVING BEHIND AN 18 WHEELER OR BIG SEMITRUCK. THEY MAKE MY VEHICLE MOVE ALOT BECAUSE OF THE WIND THEY HAVE BEHIND THEM. SO I STAY BACK OR GO ON AROUND THEM. Overall: I GIVE 2 THUMBS UP!! FOR THE CHEV TRAILBLAZER... |

The 2009 Chevrolet TrailBlazer is part of what once was the heart of the SUV market, but these best sellers are gradually being replaced by carlike crossovers.
The TrailBlazer is nearly identical to the GMC Envoy, which sells at a similar price, but is more trucklike.
Only the Durango feels as cumbersome and uncomfortable as the TrailBlazer, but it's a bit more of a workhorse.
The Liberty, Pathfinder, and 4Runner all have better off-road-focused models.
The Liberty is smaller and more maneuverable, while the Pathfinder stands out as having a better ride and a more luxurious interior.
Then there's the formerly best-selling Ford Explorer, which is still perhaps the most direct competitor to the TrailBlazer.
Ford has done a much better job keeping the Explorer updated in recent years, and though it also has trucklike underpinnings, the Explorer handles far better than the TrailBlazer.
