Great Traveling Car, too many repairs
Source: Edmunds

...Bought 1 year old with 27k miles. Drives like a dream, even in extreme snow/blizzard.
Problem is reliability. Had AC replace at 50k, transmission at 60k, transmission at 90k, transmission at 110k.
Never towed anything, just issues with transmission.
With complaints said, we feel ultra safe traveling, even in extreme blizzards when other cars are spinning off the road. Put Yokohama AT/S tires on it, and can go anywhere in sun/rain/snow...

...the power is powerful 0-60 in no time and keep in mind the size of this suv, its one of the biggest of all and its still this strong. and the thing i love bout this truck is that thirs is a lot of accesoris for it. since i love it so much i have bought lots of things for it like projector lights, led tail lights oher things to make it look even better or cooler. me i dont like small cars because theyre week as in power, looks, and at crashing. and you can do a lot more with a suburban thanith a litle honda and also its american. iam proud to drive my chevy suburban and i always tell my...

...Our Suburban has served us well, with little complaints. The gas mileage is great for an SUV of its size.Handles winter weather like a dream and is smooth as a BMW.
Backing up is challenging and takes some getting used to...

We luv our bus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Source: Edmunds

...We had to get a bigger vehicle (I was pregnant)so we traded in our Jag Vand Plas for a used 2001 "Bus" with 117,000mls.
We can't tell you how much we luv our "Bus" We added 3 TV'S for the kids, Navigation for me.
It is great for Soccer and other sport activities for the family,we travel a lot and it has great as mileage (16-18) We hardly drive our other vehicles except for work.
When the engine falls out we'll get another used "Bus"...

Excellent Transportation
Source: Cars.com

..."Bought this Corrolla Twin with 100K on it. It starts and runs excellent with decent handling up to 70+ MPH.
I have avaraged 28 to 31 MPG (city, suburban) heavy footed driving.
The car does not have ABS, but to my suprise the brakes are very good.
This car will definately stay around as work commuter (regular gas).
The cars engine is responsive and you can fell the quality build. No shakes, rattles or vibrations. In the 60K that I put on it, I have changed the Starter.Makes an excellent 2nd car."...

Once upon a Suburban...
Source: Cars.com

...This one is a lot more modern, comfort-wise and feature-wise. I really enjoy hearing clients complimenting on the smooth and comfortable ride. The car is also very powerful(duh, its a Suburban!), yet efficient. I opted for the 5.3, and don't worry, you don't miss much from the 6.0 at all. The active fuel management system is awesome. It is always at work. The new navigation is a definite improvement over the 06 model. The leather seats are much improved as well. The black on black color combo looks great too. Guys, if you want a great SUV, buy a Suburban. Great deals are lining up and you...

2003 Z71 suburban
Source: Edmunds

...I purchased this vehicle new in 2003. I had some problem with the dash rpm gauge twice which was corrected.
The sending unit in the gas tank went bad and that hurt my pocket.
But for as many miles this has driven and the places it has been ( I don't baby it ) meaning I point it and it goes on/off road--tow , I'm happy as cake with her.
I'm not a little guy and its like sitting on my sofa at home. It fits 5 and tows a boat with all equipment. Hunt, fish no problem. Pull son's car out of ditches--no problem...

2004 Chevolet Suburban
Source: Edmunds

...I bought my 2004 Suburban to transport mygrand children.
It has become the car pool vehicle for my friends going to events around town. We can get 8 people in it plus luggage. The third seat comfort is not the best but good for short trips...

Great SUV
Source: Edmunds

...This is my second Suburban. I rolled the first one.
We bought this one with 113,000 miles on it and it still looks new.
There is hardly any wear in the leather at all and the carpet still looks great. Maybe they didn't have kids? Have not had any problems yet. Love the comfort and ride. Much quieter than my 99'...

Why should I also consider these?

When facing off against the two full-size SUV imports, a properly equipped 2009 Chevrolet Suburban can tow five tons, besting the Toyota Sequoia and Nissan Armada in this important category.

Other options include the Ford Expedition and the Lincoln Navigator.

The most serious competitor is the Expedition.

In particular, the Ford Expedition EL (extended length) offers some useful features and trim styles the Chevy Suburban doesn't, and it arguably has an even better ride with just a light passenger load.

2009 Nissan Armada
Competitors to the 2009 Nissan Armada offer roomier interiors and better options, but the Armada should be commended for its handsome looks and powerful V-8 engine.

2008 Ford Expedition
The 2008 Ford Expedition is a big, capable SUV with a truly useful and convenient third row.

2008 Lincoln Navigator
The 2008 Lincoln Navigator has more going for it than bling.

2008 Toyota Sequoia
The 2008 Toyota Sequoia is a capable example of the full-size SUV--in a day where the full-size SUV makes less and less sense.
