Overall a Good Buy
Source: Edmunds

...Bought my 2003 Impala LS second hand with 93,000 miles for my first car.
Ran great for a good while but just had to get the catalytic converter replaced at 102,000 miles, Brake Controller Module Replaced, and my Idle Control Valve replaced, costing me all together $1,200.
Despite those issues I've had no other issues I love my car.
It rides real smooth and has some nice power. Has great gas mileage on the highway.
This is really the last stylish model before the new Impalas went out.
The interior is very nice and there is plenty of room for 5 people to fit comfortably...

SUPER IMPALA USED

..."MY 2004 IMPALA WAS A RENTAL THAT I BOUGHT FROM A DEALER FOR 14000 .
IT TURNED OUT TO BE A GOOD BUY. IT HAS LITTLE PROBLEMS AND GETS 18-21 MPH AROUND TOWN AND EVEN BETTER ON THE ROAD. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER IMPALA WHEN FINANCES PERMIT. LOVE IT. LOVE CHEVYS"...

I was involved in a accident that was not my fault, 25 days after I purchased my vehicle
Source: Edmunds

...I purchased a 2008 chevy impala, I bought the vehicle on December 20, 2011 and on Jan 14 2012 a guy ran a stop sign and I couldn't stop and I t-boned his truck.
My son was in the car. We walked away from the accident, the only thing that happened to me was that the dash hit my knee and it is a little banged up.
We were traveling at 55 mph when the other vehicle pulled out in front of us.
The other guy didn't walk away he was in critical condition, he was taken to the hospital.
For the impact that my car took, and we didn't get hurt.
I HIGHLY recommend a impala to...

Tie rod, rack and pinion, catalytic convertor, tensioner & the radio fades?? Need an oil pan and trans is going!
Previous owner had maint. records. Car was taken care of and spotless. GM has had trouble with these trans!! Do ur own research. wish I did. Only 102K miles! A $6K car has turned into a $10k car!!"...

Decided to not trade
Source: Cars.com

..."Keeping my car because it's to good to trade. The SS Indy is stylish and gets excellent mileage.
I would say to all that can find one, buy it and enjoy. Was offered a low ball price for it but dealer wants top dollar for half the car."...

Good family sedan
Source: Cars.com

...I have not been disappointed. Although the car is not overly fancy or as nice to look at as some of it's competitors, with the rebates and employee discount I really walked out with a heck of a deal. After driving it for a month I really like the get up and go this car has, as well as the refinement it has when punching the skinny pedal. The transmission shifts nicely, although sometimes it hunts for a gear a little to long for my liking. The front seats are spacious for a guy 6'3", but haven't had many backseaters so I can't say about the rear seat leg room behind me. The Bluetooth works...

6 Years Later
Source: Edmunds

...As we approach the sixth anniversary of purchase, we are delighted to report that this has been the best sedan we have owned! In our entire ownership, we have replaced a relay fuse ($50), a manifold gasket ($300) and a wheel bearing ($225). We finally replaced the original tires and breaks a little more than a year ago. Speaking of tires, my earlier review spoke of front end road noise. This disappeared with new tires. The car was originally equipped with cheap Uniroyals. The car still looks great, and runs and runs and runs! It replaced a Nissan which we purchased new & was totally...
