The best crossover!
Source: MSN Autos

...The dealer went the extra mile to ensure it's quality and I was hooked from the test drive. The seats are comfortable and adequate enough for my height (6'2''), and for 3 other adults or one other adult and 3 children. The mirrors are oversized and allow you to see EVERYTHING around you. Everything is at your fingertips and easy to use. The stock stereo speakers serves it's purpose, although not impressive. The stereo itself is nicely designed and very user friendly. My HHR accelerates very smoothly and I have more than enough power to pass a "Sunday Driver" if needed. The DIC has everything...

Cute, Fun, and Inexpensive
Source: Cars.com

...I had to replace the battery and put new brake pads and had the rotors resurfaced but that's it! It is fun to drive and has lots of room for road trips and camping. I was surprised at the power it actually has. when I need it to get up and go it does with no hesitation! The only complaint that i have about this car is the cloth seats. It seems that the material is flimsy and picks up stains REALLY easy and it is hard to get out. I spilled some clear 7up and even after spot treating the stain is still really visible. Other than that I love love love it. If you are thinking about getting a...

HHR 2007/2008
Source: Cars.com

..."I bought my HHR SL 2.2 L in may 2008. I'm still satisfied with it.
A lot of space, engine is powerful enough, nice handling. Hope that in future GM will create 4X4 model because we usually have very sever winters."...

Happy with my HHR
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Roomy for a family of 4, good storage space. Nice handling, comfortable ride.
Good pep, love the instant MPG feature and the mileage range estimator.
On-star and XM, make it a great find for the price. Cons: Blind spot created by rear view mirror Overall: Would suggest this for just about anyone...

Good work car
Source: Cars.com

...Worst I have ever driven. Without traction control it is no better. Traction control actually helps except on steep hills at a standing start then for get it. Visibility is terrible in town due to low windshield. Forget about even using the visor in the sun you can not even see the road as it block the whole field of vision. They should have made it a sliding visor that you could slide down just a little bit to block the sun rather than a flip visor. If you are in a hurry in the morning and it is winter time, test your brakes as it takes them a bit to actually start to work. Found out going...

Typical American car quality issues
Source: Cars.com

...The pins to hold in the plastic cover over the interior hatch were missing. The motor in the drivers side rear window is shot. I have used that window maybe a dozen times. Now the plastic cover on the back seat is coming loose and has to be replaced. First American car I bought in 15 years and will be the last. The GM corporate rep told me that its covered under my warranty and my response was that's great I have a warranty but that doesn't mean I want to keep seeing the inside of your service center constantly. So much for GM's mantra that they are building a better car. These are exactly...

Great car for the money!
Source: Cars.com

..."Never thought I would buy a Chevy--I am a Honda person.
I drove this as a rental and fell in love with it.
It is so comfortable with my bad knees and back; I get to sit up like in a comfortable chair.
It has all the bells and whistles I need: it even tells me what song is playing on the radio. I also like not having a cookie-cutter car. The HHR is unique!"...

Get the SS while U can
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Tire burning turbo acceleration and a tight suspension.
I get 33 hwy mpg, 26 mpg city , 2000 rpm @ 70 mph in a car I can haul my drums in.
Amazingly fun to drive. MUST BEHAVE. Got clunkers deal for my 11mpg Ford Exploder.
Only time I ever got anything from the gov't, my one "welfare handout" I guess.
Cons: Right leg rubs on console...6'3" Overall: Get the turbo SS , feel and hear the "whoosh".
Haul your stuff with a sports car feel and 2.0 liter mileage ! A 5 star safe, relatively "fast", solid car by an American car company. Thanks Chevy...

Better than you Think
Source: MSN Autos

...Power seats put anyone right where you need to be to see the areas around the vehicle. The gas mileage is good also. Cons: The hub caps make more noise than the radio and are a joke. Don't skimp. Pay the extra $50 a wheel and get the real rims. Gotta have "Spot" mirrors to help over come the blind spots. Overall: The overall look and feel are a great surprise from the drivers seat. The passenger has plenty of room as do the rear passengers. The bonus space in the back is a cross between a station wagon and the rear of my SUV. I love the look and the ride...

Why should I also consider these?

As the competition for boxy crossovers with tall roofs heats up, the 2010 Chevrolet HHR has a wide range of rivals now.

The PT Cruiser is also a versatile people/cargo hauler and has more useful passenger space than the HHR, but the Chrysler can’t match the HHR’s performance with the SS edition.

Base versions of the PT Cruiser ride and handle better than the HHR, however.

The Jeep Patriot is a little bit smaller overall, yet it offers all-wheel drive and its interior feels roomier; it's an ideal choice for city folks who want a lot of utility but will stay on-road.

The Scion xB is also a direct rival to the HHR, but it targets a more youthful, urban buyer.

Like the HHR, the xB isn’t as roomy inside for passengers as one might expect.

The Honda Element remains one of the best choices for those who have a lot of stuff to haul, though its small rear-hinged back doors aren't quite as friendly for backseat passengers.

2010 Honda Element
Ideally suited for a wide range of users with the common need to haul stuff, the 2010 Honda Element is a surprising fun and fuel-efficient.

2010 Jeep Patriot
The 2010 Jeep Patriot is unlike any other vehicle on the market, with good safety, a spacious interior, and city-friendly maneuverability, plus just enough Jeep-ness for weekend campers.

2010 Scion xB
The 2010 Scion xB has a lot of space, polarizing looks, and lots of safety features. It provides good value for those on a budget, trendy or not.

2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser
There's no more convertible, but if you want to be seen, the 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser still lends some novelty to everyday driving.
