Have to love the e36 m3
Source: Cars.com

..."I love my 95 e36m3. It was my dream car when i was 15 and i got mine 2 in half yrs ago and I have been loving it.
You can go over 100 real quick and not even notice that you are.
Handles like a dream. It still turns heads as well. If your looking for a m3 of the e36's i would go with the 95 yr other then the 96-99 yrs."...

What can I say
Source: Cars.com

..."This is a great car. I beat my friend's rs4 with it so it is really fast, and the handling is just sooooooo good.
But it lacks comfort. As a sports car this is perfect, but as a car to just cruse its not the best."...

Great Sports car for the serious driver
Source: Cars.com

..."I purchased this car about three years ago, and I have to tell you, if you like performance, and respect from the "Japanese" enthusiast, purchase an M3.
They will just look at you and dare not to take a try."...

German cars are built to last
Source: Cars.com

..."I owned several Bmw's including two 3 series which both went over 150,000 miles with no major problems but regular tune ups and maintenance.
The M3 I have is a 1998 M3 Sedan automatic black on black.
I bought this car used which was in excellent condition.
Only thing was a few scratches just like any other car when buying it used.
Even though its an automatic and a four door it still pushes hard and is very fast.
The most surprising thing about this car is that it has over 221,000 miles and is still running like new. German cars are the best."...

2006 Owner

..."Im here to tell you handling, excelleration and fun is all there.
I love this car. Yes the competition has caught the E46 in speeed and horsepower, but when it comes down to the bimmer feel and trust they will never catch that.
It is a beautiful rock solid car. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this car to all. I have 17,333 happy miles on mine and when I drop the top its a highly enjoyable experiance."...

Miss my BMW
Source: Cars.com

...V8 performance and mileage is really good - the engine is so old in production it's basically bulletproof. Good options, technology package is great because of the rearview camera. This car would be great for my father. I came out of an M3 and while I wasn't expecting an M3 I wasn't expecting a Sunday cruiser either. Standard seats need to be beefed up with leg/side bolsters. Steering wheel needs to be smaller and meatier. Suspension needs to be tighter in standard package. Steering feels vague at best. Significant body roll. If you like Audi, get an A4, they're a lot tighter. Three weeks...

Had my E92 M3 for about 2 months now
Source: Edmunds

...I owned E46 E36 E30 M3s and this is by far the quickest and best M3. I love the engine/exhaust noise when you hit above 5000rpm. You can't go wrong with this car...

Outstanding
Source: Cars.com

..."2nd BMW M3 I've owned and the best one yet. Excellent daily driver that also doesn't mind being pushed and driven on the twistys.
Sedan, convertible, coupe models all available at the same time make it easy to get your M3 the way you want it.
Blue tooth and idrive a must...really link the car together into an extension of the driver when you're in the car.
Options can get pricey but you won't regret them. Simply great...can't STOP driving it! Brings a smile to my face everytime! :)"...

Why should I also consider these?

Though the BMW M3's reputation brings a legion of fans with it, the new 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG may actually be faster, though like the Audi RS4, it comes only as a four-door sedan.

The Audi supersedan also offers standard all-wheel drive, but it's slower and its price tag is nearly $10,000 higher than that on the BMW M3 or the Benz C63.

Lexus's IS-F is a new entrant in this battle; its 416-hp V-8 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission give it a technical edge on the M3 and the others, but loyalty counts in this crowd.

2008 Audi RS 4
The 2008 Audi RS4 sedan and cabriolet bring rocketlike power and price tags to the otherwise humble A4 lineup.

2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
The 2008 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG sports a fluid ride, spot-on handling, and shrieking power to make it the most accomplished C-Class ever built.

2008 Lexus IS F
The 2008 Lexus IS-F challenges the best from Germany, bringing 168-mph capability with an uber-high pricetag to boot.
