Great Touring Sedan
Source: Edmunds

...Although it is a great car in many facets, living in the midwest I should have gotten the Audi A8L w/all-wheel drive.
The car is quite, smooth, very roomy and is a road warrior.
Up keep is pricey but that should be expected, get an extended warranty or a certified one.
This car will fishtail on you in the snow and rain that is why my next car will be an Audi A8 L. Also, a bit boxy compared to the same year, Lexus, Infiniti, Audi and Benz...

S8 Great but I bought new A8L instead, read why......

...The S8 wheels are copy cats of the S4, which is pathetic. Too bad Audi doesn't make a stretched S8, which I would have bought, since they both cost about the same anyway. Cons: No long wheel base S8 available. Shame on you Audi, but the cars are all now world class. Audi has come a long way in the last 5 years. A8L 4 spoke steering wheel has radio controls as well as tiptronic controls, unlike S8 3 spoke wheel which came directly from the S4. Overall: I'm not picking on the S8. It's one of the best cars in the world, but the extra handling and braking are not worth the sacrifice in styling or...

Dare to Compare

...Pros: This is "understated elegance" at it's best for the true driving enthusiast.
Beyond being one of the safest automobiles on the road relative to "passive" safety,
with Quattro, it continues to dominate the competition in "active" safety through accident avoidance.
Excellent acceleration and handling. I would recommend the A8L to anybody currnetly driving a Mercedes S or BMW 7 series.
Cons: Nothing Overall: You will be doing yourself a favor by driving the A8L prior to your next purchase...

Never Follow
Source: MSN Autos

...Although Audi is changing the entire system in 2003 with one that is better and more user friendly than BMW's crappy I Drive. Overall: Overall, this is a perfect automobile. Forget the rating of 1.0. The guy must work for either a rival or needs his head examined. The A8L is truly a unique package done extremely well. Audi continues to produce beautiful cars, and the A8L is no exception. For those who see themselves as individuals, and not followers like Bimmer or Merc owners, then this is the luxuary car to have. The quality of my Audi is unsurpassed. And I have owned those BMWs and Mercs-...
