A3 TDI perfection!Source: Edmunds
...Had been interested in purchasing a diesel for some time now but never seemed to make financial sense until the A3 TDI came out. |

GS-R rocked... maybe too much!Source: MSN Autos...it was stolen 5 (yes - you read that right FIVE) times! Luckily i had LOJACK thus the car was returned to me the first 4 times it was stolen . However, LOJACK didn't come thru the 5th time, the car was returned to me completely stripped. Apparently LOJACK system has a 3 year battery life that NO ONE ever told me needed to be replaced. And since the first 4 thefts occurred within the first 2 years of my owning the car, the battery life was not an issue. Overall: Loved this car, miss it very much. I replaced it was an Acura CL, but it NO way nears the fun factor of the GSR. My only consulation... |

Best Hatchback everSource: Cars.com...The Fit and Finish is better than some cars twice it's price. The exterior is definitely a step up from the "Hot Hatch's" I've had in the past. The Performance is amazing considering I can still get just over 30 MPG on highway drives. One thing I was truly excited/relieved about was the quality and useability of the Bluetooth system. Connecting was easy and it's awesome to have my contacts at my fingertips vial the steering wheel control, and the voice dialing works perfect. Lastly the reason I love Hatchback's is the best of both worlds from performance to the fact I can take this thing on... |

VERY COMFORTABLE BUT VERY UNRELIABLESource: Cars.com

Stitch, A Civic's Story.Source: MSN Autos...As far as mechanical issues go...nothing major at all, just a radiator hose, and cv boot. Standard wear n' tear parts. Cons: Nothing really, the only thing I'd change is the horsepower, by a factor of 10 to 15 extra for hill climbing. Overall: I plan to keep Stitch for as long as possible. Yeah he's basic bare bones transportation, but he's been truly reliable. When it's feasible there will be some reasonably sane mods made, but nothing extreme. I can wholeheartedly recommend this vehicle to anyone who needs a good, solid, (especially since it's 18 years old ) and a reliable car, with great... |

Still in loveSource: Edmunds
...At 4,000, am thoroughly in love: Blast to drive, lots of torque, great mountain road control with paddle gear selectors. |
Audi's latest recall of the 2012-2012 A3 TDI is unusual, not in that it's a diesel or an Audi, but because of the reason: an odd confluence of engine RPM and fuel line... October 6, 2011 by Nelson Ireson

If you're in the market for a wagonlike vehicle with sporting pretensions and can spend $30,000, there are some interesting choices outside of the 2009 Audi A3.
The 2010 Audi A3 doesn’t have a lot of competition in the U.S.
market.
The BMW 3-Series wagon—especially the fuel-efficient 335d—is one possibility, but it’s much more expensive.
The Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen is another alternative; it’s actually roomier inside and has a better ride, though it’s not nearly as sporty as the A3.
The Infiniti EX is either a crossover vehicle or tall wagon, depending on how you see it.
It has all-wheel drive as an option, but the base car is a rear-driver spun from the hot-handling G35 sedan, one of our favorite luxury sport sedans.
Yet another option would be the Acura RDX, a crossover that’s powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The RDX has a roomier and better-appointed interior, but it doesn’t offer any fuel-efficient engine choices to rival the A3 TDI.
