what a car!
Source: Cars.com

..."This 3.5 RL is as nice or better than any LS400/430 I have driven. Top to bottom, front to back--this is the whole package!!"...

Great Car
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Interior room seats and driver controls. Handles like a sports car but still feels like total luxury.
Cons: If there was something I would liked to have were more options like chrome wheels and a v8 Overall: Bext value to me I test drove other luxury cars , but none came close to the overall value...

I wasn't expecting such a great car.
Source: Cars.com

..."Bought the car used, I will never buy new again. This is a great car with fantastic features.
I have read some reviews dogging the RL for "lack of power" and I can't understand what they mean.
This car has WAY more than ample power for anybody other than stoplight to stoplight racers.......I don't think this car was made for that.
Anyway, grat car, reliable.....and really good looking to boot."...

OK after nine years
Source: Cars.com

..."After 9 years the car still rides well but has suffered more "issues" than other cars I have had.
This is the first car to have to be towed with less than 100K on the odometer.
Computer module failure. The trim is shakey with various pieces coming loose or failing off. Fuel mileage is not so hot, 18 city 22-23 highway...

A Highly Under rated Car
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: Quality of materials, Awesome sound system, great performance for a 2 ton vehicle.
Tech package a winner. Cons: Styling is in severe need of improvement .
Overall: Been driving since 1960 and owned all kinds of cars from clunkers to Mercedes, Lexus and the like.
I had and really liked the 2005 Acura TL I leased for 4 years.
The RL is a step or two above the TL The RL is head and shoulders above several "Near Luxury Sedans" I test drove before deciding on the RL...

ACURA RL
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: I bought it new and wouldn't trade it for anything.
I usually trade every 3 years (last car was a Mercedes
that was so expensive to maintain) but glad I made the choice to buy this car in the good times so I am not stuck with a disappointing car in this economy.
I would highly recommend buying a 4-5 year old Acura over a brand new Honda at the same price--but mine won't be for sale anytime soon.
Acura service in Tempe, AZ is awesome! Cons: Nothing Overall: EXCELLENT...

The RL experence
Source: Cars.com

..."I bought this car after owning a 1996TL that I was talked into by a 1992 Vigor owner.
The TL was great but a little small and at 220k it was starting to loosen up.
the RL has just enough room and it is a pleasure to drive.
I just put the second timing belt on it at 210K and it still feels like new.
It has just enough creature features to make you know you are in a high end car.
Gas for me has been about 22 and Acura stands behind their product if there are any problems which I have had none they still know you."...

Doesn't matter where you're going
Source: Edmunds

...This is my second RL, having returned my leased 05 for an 09.
The best thing about this car is the way it makes you feel when driving it.
With the SH-AWD, the bullet-proof nav system, the world class vtech engine and the solid suspension; you can drive this car with complete confidence that you will get where you're going and get back.
To me, the most important thing about a car is that I trust it. I have never had a car that I trust (or enjoyed) more than this 09 RL. Complete reliability, safety, luxury and comfort...

Affordable luxury
Source: Cars.com

..."A very comfortable ride in this quiet and well mannered luxury sedan.
Heated leather seats, auto-dimming mirrors, a Bose stereo,
vehicle stability control and a powerful and smooth V6 engine make this a car you can take out on long journeys and not even nptice 200 miles go by.
And of course very reliable as long as you do regular maintenance."...

Why should I also consider these?

When it's time for you to step out of the smaller entry-level premium sedans, the 2009 Acura RL doesn't really stand out among the excellent competitors it faces.

It's probably because the Acura RL is V-6 powered and uses all-wheel drive.

There are some sedans that match its drivetrain; the Cadillac STS is more crisply styled, but its rear seat is truly cramped.

The Volvo S80 is light and airy inside, with a Scandinavian look to the cabin and a light touch to the controls.

The Audi A6 suffers from the same overwrought styling up front as the Acura RL, but its backseat seems roomier.

2009 Cadillac STS
The 2009 Cadillac STS isn’t a standout for looks, but you’ll appreciate the way it drives.

2008 Volvo S80
The 2008 Volvo S80 is one of the safety luxury sedans on the planet, and in V-8 form it’s an enthusiastic performer.

2008 Audi A6
The 2008 Audi A6 has plenty of competition, but its graceful look and feel set it apart from more brutal German and more clinical Japanese iron.
