RDX after 27,000 miles
Source: Edmunds

...I test drove every car in its class before I decided to buy the RDX.
I wanted something smaller than the gas guzzling Cayenne Turbo I was driving.
I wanted good visibility, good handling and reasonable fuel mileage and a vehicle I can put my golf clubs without folding down the back seats, which the Porsche, Audi, MB Ml all fail.
The RDX has good acceleration and if you use the paddle shifter it beats just about any Suv at the stop light grand prix.
The handling leaves the X3 for dead. Only negatives is the brakes.
Several high speed stops in succession will cause the...

Best compact luxury SUV
Source: MSN Autos

...Despite the athletic suspension and quick acceleration, the ride never gets noisy and always remains quiet and smooth. Fuel economy is actually very compettitive considering this is an all-wheel-drive vehicle that also has a turbo charger -- you can easily get around 21 mpg in a mix of city and highway driving. The base sound system and integrated trunk subwoofer also sound great. Cons: None. Overall: Definitely recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a reliable, smooth, and fun to drive SUV for around $30k. Other luxury brands may offer similar performance, but with Acura you are...

Solid Choice for a Lux SUV
Source: Cars.com

..."I own a 2007 black on beige RDX. I purchased it because everyone I know owns a Lexus RX, which I am not fond of, and because it undercuts the competitions price by a noticeable amount.
Overall, I generally like the vehicle, but I am convinced that it is not for everyone.
For instance: Few appreciate that the rough ride of the RDX is from a wonderful suspension that makes this car feel very agile in its moves.
Many see this as just a rough uncomfortable car. Also, the interior doesn't have the typical wood trimmed interior.
Instead, it has a more contemporary intricate...

Know what you're buying
Source: Edmunds

...We wanted a AWD vehicle to travel in winter to Northern NV and Sierra Nevada mtns.
We wanted a small SUV. We loved the CR-V but it was a Dog (4 Cyl.) and the Rav4 was stylish 10 years ago, so we checked out the RDX.
It has impressive quickness & handling and it's really fun to drive.
What we didn't expect is the gas mileage. We have only gotten 17 mpg in town once and highway isn't much over 20.
On long trips be prepared to gas up frequently (and always with premium).
Overall I really like the SUV and the fact that the turbo doesn't lose power with elevation. Know...

Great little SUV!
Source: MSN Autos

...Pros: I just bought mine last week. I LOVE IT! Fun to drive.
Handles great in the snow. Awesome easy to use technology.
Can operate just about every feature via voice recognization. Cons: Wish it had a power tailgate. Wish it were a hybrid. Overall: I would definately buy this SUV again...

...Pros: Acceleration, handling, looks, features. Cons: Needs a power liftgate and keyless start. Overall: Fun to drive, nice looks, and a lot for the money...

Best bang for the buck!
Source: Cars.com

...Our other car is an '05 TL, so for us it feels like driving the TL, but it is a little higher off the ground. My friends that have driven with me have even commented on the smooth ride, so I guess it's all perspective (they have a Volvo S60R, an Audi tt, a BMW 325, and and a Hyundai Santa Fe). I feel like we got a great deal on the RDX and with all the standard features, I feel like it is a great value. I knew the gas mileage going in wasn't going to be great, so I am not going to complain about it. I basically do chores around town and average 18.5, which isn't too bad considering it says...

Long term review
Source: Edmunds

...Have owned the SUV for one year and 18k miles now. Fun to drive, good visibility, excellent handling and did real well in the New England winter.
I am not a very aggressive driver and don't use the paddle shifters much.
I do a mix of highway and city driving. I am averaging 21 mpg.
The rear suspension is very firm which could be uncomfortable for rear adult passengers on longer trips.
I owned another Acura five years ago. I was disappointed with the fit and finish of my SUV.
Total of three trim pieces on the dashboard and passengers door panels were replaced under...

Why should I also consider these?

Shoppers are still moving toward smaller SUVs, but sporty, luxurious ones like the 2009 Acura RDX are especially rising in popularity.

The BMW X3 was one of the first entries in the niche, but its substandard interior (at least initially) and rough ride keep TheCarConnection.com from recommending it.

Infiniti’s EX35 is a blast to drive with none of the turbo lag, but its fuel economy is worse than that of the RDX.

Land Rover's LR2 feels plusher than the RDX, with the LR2 owning a bit of off-road edge.

VW’s Tiguan also has a turbo four, but somehow it’s a lot easier to live with.

The Mercedes-Benz GLK is another new entry in this group—it sizes up with the rest but manages to feel a bit more mature and refined; for now, it's only offered with a big V-6.

The Audi Q5 is another new entry set to come out late in the 2009 model year.

2009 Audi Q5
The 2009 Audi Q5 sports the sleek lines of a sweet German sedan, a date-worthy cabin, and good, hefty, but gimmicky handling.

2008 Infiniti EX35
Because of the Infiniti EX35, 2008 could be year of the right-sized crossover. Many people are looking for SUV style without SUV size, and they should be particularly attracted to this offering.

2008 Land Rover LR2
The 2008 Land Rover LR2 splices the ruggedly stylish look that draws people to the legendary British brand with honest practicality, without the gas-guzzling and clumsy handling.

2009 Volkswagen Tiguan
The 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan aims for the likes of the Honda CR-V and hits a little higher--in price and sophistication.
