Despite a September 1st embargo, the guys over at AutoWeek have published images of the upcoming Honda/Acura MDX, which were presented at the vehicle’s press event in Dearborn. This isn’t the first time this has happened either, last month AutoWeek broke the embargo on material for the GMT-900 pickup series.
Honda believes there is still growth in the midsize luxury segment and is positioning the new vehicle to buyers looking for a more dynamic drive. The MDX features a new 3.7-litre V6, which delivers 300hp and 275lb ft of torque, 40hp and 25lb ft over the previous model. The only transmission is a sequential 5-speeder.
The MDX will come equipped with some pretty cool gadgets in up-spec versions including a DVD satnav with real-time traffic updates, a reversing camera and heated seats.
Honda is doing its best to change the image of its luxury arm from being nice but boring to hot and hi-tech.
Yeah, I noticed they’re also putting a greater emphasis on driving dynamics too. If you read the first reviews on the new MDX, most reviewers claim it handles better than a X5!
honda pilots are nicer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
