New BMW X5 with 400HP Hamann package

The second generation E70 X5 hasn’t even been introduced in many countries but already German tuners Hamann have released a performance upgrade package for the new SUV. The modified car is the top-end 4.8i model that's powered by a 355hp V8 engine in standard guise. Hamann bumps output to 400hp thanks to a free-flow exhaust system and ECU upgrade, which enables the big ute to reach 0 to 100km/h in just 6.2 seconds beating the standard car's acceleration figure by 0.3 seconds. Top speed remains electronically limited to 250km/h.

Visually, the tuned car remains much the same as the standard version except for the lowered sports suspension that sits a full 10cm lower over regular X5s and a set of Hamann 20 or 22in alloy wheels.
