Hummer will be adding a new model to its lineup in the form of the H3T pickup, due to make its world debut at next month’s Chicago Auto Show. The new truck is based on the current entry-level H3 SUV, which means it will be available with the same 3.7L Atlas straight five engine as well as a 5.3L V8 engine in an Alpha version.
The engines deliver 242hp and 295hp, respectively, and both are offered with either five-speed manual or four-speed auto transmissions. The pickup should also feature the H3’s electronically-controlled dual-speed transfer case and electronic locking differential but we’re still waiting for official details from GM.
The new H3T is slightly longer than its conventional SUV cousin and unlike its concept version, which only had two doors, the new production model features a dual-cab cabin as well as a decent sized flatbed tray.

Even interior looks much nicer than before in the old Hummers, it’s still very ugly car. Really UGLY
Maybe I’m the wierd one here, but I just don’t see why you wouldn’t just buy a mid-size 4-door pickup, and spend the money saved making it much more off-road or towing capable than even the H2, if that’s what you require (and some people really do).
The whole Hummer image is so overly tainted as enviromentally uncaring and ego overblown that I can’t see this brand surviving much longer.
But I could be wrong, there’s plenty of fools out there.
one thing to have an opinion Gus, and another to call folks a fools, it makes me wonder if your opinion is worth anything with that type of talk.
Ohh, I’d say people who buy Hummers are definitely fools.
That’s not just an opinion, that’s a fact.
But maybe you’re right, paying way too much for a vehicle that pretends to be an off-road toughie but is really based on nothing more than a Chevy Tahoe with bigger tires while getting worse mileage, less towing capacity and less interior space probably makes you a frickin’ genius!!!
Gus, it seems like you throw around bad comments and do it with agression in the hope it looks right to all and hides that you dont know a thing,’what are you trying to prove’, that your the next Clakeson, ‘you wish’
you take about facts, you dont know them, just a few things about a Chev Tahoe, still dosn’t hide your knowing not much if nothing about the buyers of any car and the cars themselves, never mind a Hummer, and yes, next to you I am a genius.
Oh put on your dubs , turn up your bass, and go off-roading.
In 20 years you’ll look up “Hummer” in the dictionary and it’ll say “see fool willing to part ways with his money to impress others”.
Here’s what bothers me about Hummers:
They’re posers. The vehicle and usually the owner.
The Hummer H1 is the most flat out amazing off-road machine out there, but of course it can’t go down a trail narrower than 20 feet, and the vast majority of owners would faint if they got the chrome rims dirty.
The Hummer H2 can’t go off road worth *$%#, I know this because I am a serious off-roader, who knows a thing or two about locking differentials, articualting suspensions, torque distribution, etc. A Land Rover Defender or LR2? A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2 door? Those can really go off road. Here at the local off-road pit you see at least 1 or 2 H2’s every weekend buried to their axles in mud, with their well-dressede and confused owners hanging out their tiny windows scratching their heads while a teenager on a utility quad offers to pull them out.
The H3? Oh don’t even get me started. Underpowered, can’t handle worth a damn, and has about as much off-road ability as a pickup truck from 1950.
I guess I just hate vehicles that pretend to be something that they’re not. Hummers (by that I mean the H2 and 3) are not particulary tough or capable, they’re just trying to look like an H1.
Might as well put a Ferrari body on an old Fiero.
Oh yeah, that’s right, there’s idiots out there that do that too…
Hey Gus! I hate posers to…. I bet you dollars to doughnuts you couldn’t afford a Hummer or LR2. Stop trying to pretend as if you have a choice, jump in your Tahoe and hit the trails bud. If you had the means to afford such things, you would have a different outlook on it. It’s a Hummer to you, it’s just a red truck to me. Nothing pisses me off more than broke S.O.B like yourself talking about what other people should do with there money.
Get over it guys Gus KNOWS what he is talking about Hummers are out there for fools to buy and us to laugh at them when we see them at the gas stations.
best cars I have ever seen
