Ferrari’s upcoming 2+2 GT has been spotted once again by spy photographers and this time without the heave camouflage masking the car’s rear canopy. We finally can see the shape and proportion of the car and what appears to be a cut line on the roof, leading to suggestions the new model, codenamed 149, will have a removable roof.
Onlookers claim the car is closer in size to the 612 Scaglietti rather than the F430, which coincides with previous reports claiming the car will be a genuine 2+2 and will also sport a folding hard topped roof designed and assembled by Pininfarina.
Other speculated details include a 500hp 4.7L powerplant, direct-injection technology, and even a new dual-clutch gearbox. The new 2+2 GT will almost certainly forgo the rumored ‘Dino’ title and will likely be called the GT California instead – a name that Ferrari has already registered.
The car is scheduled to make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. Below is a video of the car testing at Ferrari’s test track in Fiorano.

so does that mean this could be a 612 replacement ? the 612 although not a traditionally styled ferrari with its more mainstream looks was a fabulous GT, but it has now been passed by the simply goreous and much better/faster 599…..
who knows…but until we get solid info on the engine size we wont know where it will slot into the ferrari lineup
I doubt this will replace 612, isn’t this meant to be a V8 only? 612 is kind of like the V12 flagship. I thought there was suggestions that 612 will recieve a midlife update with the engine from 599, or may be i was just dreaming haha
I like Ferrari
I hope this car will end up being amazing.
yep you were dreaming Alan…haha
the 612 will be fazed out….expect high end 6 numbers even a 7 number for the new flagship !
