Just when you think there’s nothing more to see or read about Nissan’s GT-R super-coupe, images of a mysterious prototype start to crop up on the internet. These latest shots depict a car with several features you won’t find on the standard model and has led many to speculate the car is in fact the upcoming Spec-V model due to hit the streets in 2009.
The new prototype was spotted at Nissan’s test center just outside the Nurburgring and features a number of visual differences from the standard model. These include a new front lip-spoiler with additional cooling vents, a new set of racing-style alloy wheels and a custom brake package – possibly with new carbon-ceramic discs.
Late last year Nissan insiders revealed a Spec-V model will arrive in mid 2009 as a 2010 model. The source confirmed the car would be more powerful and lighter than the standard version, suggesting Nissan could beat its 7m 38s ‘ring time. Head over to Jalopnik to see the latest spy images in full.

is it against the rules to say that i would prefer to have my GT-R in red with Balck interior?
this car has redefined what can be done with a car and its performance without having to pay through the roof for it !
This car is just amazing. I read in my May issue of Car and Driver that it [the normal GT-R] does 0-60 MPH in 3.3 seconds. And it only costs around 80,000 before markups. That’s pretty damn affordable, I can see myself driving one of these a few years after I graduate from university as an engineer.
Wow, you must be Cooper Union or MIT engineer, as I just graduated as engineer and I don’t see myself driving 80K car for at least 5 years, probably way more.
Well, I don’t have any gigantic student loans to pay and I’ll be living with my family so I won’t be paying rent. I’m going to get a job and start paying some of the utility bills. But all in all, with most of my paycheck going right into the bank, I’ll have plenty saved up.
so far every review you read about the GT-R says that it’s freakn fast but not really fun or lovable. It doesnt excite you the way sports car should. So I hope V-spec will speak more to the senses than the standard ones.
