The company, which was formed in 1993, employs just 30 people and only delivered its first customer car in 2002. That following year it suffered a setback when a fire burnt production facilities to the ground, which led the owner and founder Christian von Koenigsegg to move operations to a former Swedish Airforce Base.
Koenigsegg was started by one man’s dream to build a world class supercar and we hope its fortunes turnaround soon.

Surely you must be joking! Are you telling me that an ugly ass car with an ugly ass interior and a Ford V8 as the base for its engine, a car that has won no titles and has no history BUT sells at twice and more the price of a Ferrari F430... is not selling well?!
Why ever not?!

I love the styling and interior of this car...as for the price, it is quite overpriced but then it is much more exclusive than an F430, not to mention a bit less of a 'cliche' choice for the monied

There are plenty out there that would disagree with you, Hector, on the styling comments, also, the V8 powered Ford GT supercar is also amazing so I wouldn't downplay the ford angle for one bit.
Also, believe it or not the Koenigsegg holds the world record for the fastest car (Veyron's not official) and even if it's only second fastest that's still a lot better than what established marques like Ferrari have done.

I'm sure it's a great car, regardless, but at the limited numbers they are made, one or two cars determines whether they make a profit or not. Not a business for the fient hearted...

People have different opinions on the styling but personally, I like it a lot. Its also extrmely exclusice and one of the craziest and fastest supercars ever. Sounds a bit more exciting than an f430. Dont u think?

The CCX engine is developed and engineered by Koenigsegg in-house, not Ford.

This is by far the best looking supercar in production today, period. Considering it's going to be living in the Veyron/Zonda class I don't think it's overpriced at all. In fact, compared to those two, I consider it quite a bargain. I certainly like it far better than the Saleen S7. There's no use in even mentioning the Ferrari F430 in a conversation about this car; the CCX is in a higher league altogether. If you're going to compare it to a Ferrari, you have to compare it with an Enzo. IMHO the Enzo is one of the ugliest supercars ever designed. I'd take the CCX over any current production Ferrari, now or in the foreseeable future. As to the question of the debt, the amount referenced in the story is nothing if you look at the pig picture, and is being used to make a news story out of basically nothing. The main story here is that they're looking for investors to help strengthen the company. This is just a wise business move, and not a call of "all hands to the pumps" as a select few (and the voices ARE few) in the auto and business media are making it out to be. I think you'll see this company competing strongly with the other supercar manufacturers for a good while.

Needless to say, I meant to type "big picture" in the above comment!
