Italian man builds his own supercar

A new supercar has emerged out of Northern Italy that was singlehandedly built by a car enthusiast by the name of Filandri Moreno. Dubbed the Uragano (Italian for Hurricane), the car has taken up every spare hour of the 47-year-old’s time for the past four years. The entire car is fabricated from hand, and not just the panels and body but even the brakes, suspension and steering system were all built personally by Moreno.

In fact the only thing not built by Moreno is the Audi sourced 4.2L V8 engine, which was sourced from a decade-old A8 sedan. Not many people can claim that they have built an entire car - but the car’s eye-catching looks and mechanics (apart from the engine) are entirely the work of a single man, representing a rather monumental achievement.

There are no plans to put the Uragano into production as the supercar was built not for financial gain, but rather to suit the sentimental dreams of Moreno, who wanted a supercar that he had built all by himself.

not to judge or anything, but if i worked day and night for 4 years on something, something like this anyways, i’d certainly put a coat of primer on it before i brought it out to the market to show it off. kinda looks like caddy XLR wrapped its skin over an F40. I’m 22 and I couldn’t do better if you gave me 40 years let alone 4.

I’m impressed. A turbo-charged mid-engine v8 and a tubular space-frame. I bet it’s really fast - probably doesn’t have a lot of pollution control equipment or airbags, etc., to add weight. Pretty cool.

I think its an amazing acomplishment
something that few people can say they’ve done. But I agree with chris mr.moreno should have given it some final touches before showing it public. Still its an impresive feat I wonder what the performance stats for this car is and with what cars it could compete with.

its a cross between a Ferrari testarossa, F40 and an Enzo, being Italian that is understandable.

can i just tip my hat to the man and his dream. Well done…some of us can only dream and some of us still aspire to re-doing a classic car , yet this guy has gone out and built himself his own one.
Maybe one of the coach builders could let him finish his car properly, namely to allow him to give it a proper lick of paint and bake it on to appease the people whio need finsihing touches.
