First official image of the Lamborghini Alar

Yes, that’s correct. This is in fact a Lamborghini, but unlike the specialties from Sant'Agata, this one’s from Argentina. The Alar is based on the older V12 Diablo, but under a special licensing agreement with Lamborghini, the official distributor for the supercars in South America is allowed to create its own line of models using the Lambo badge and running gear.

Designed by Joan Ferci, the Alar is actually the third such model from the Argentinean. He has already created two previous versions also based on the Diablo labeled the Coatl and the Eros GT-1. The latest Alar version is said to deliver up to 700hp and is able to reach a top speed of 223mph. We should have more information and real-life images when the car is officially revealed on the 30th of this month in Buenos Aires.

    One question comes to mind, has this kit-car been tested in a wind tunnel?
    Bet you Audi's pretty keen on getting the hell out of this licensing agreement from '96. Check out their web-shite, and see the prices they charge for their homemade creativity/cock up of Lamborghini..
