Volkswagen’s premium four door pseudo-coupe model will simply be called CC when it goes on sale next quarter, and not the full Passat CC as previously thought. The original name came about because the CC rides on the same platform as the regular Passat sedan, although it sits some 5cm lower and stretches more than 3cm.
The new name appeared on the official Volkswagen site for the car along with several new images and interior details. Some of the new features include an electrically actuated panoramic sunroof, a sports–inspired cabin with bucket style rear seats, a unique steering wheel and a touchscreen control, hard-disk supported navigation system with a rear view camera.
The CC will come standard in the U.S. with a 2.0 TSI engine with 200hp and 207lb-ft of torque, available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Available optionally is the flagship 3.6L FSI, rated at 280hp and 266lb-ft of torque. The 3.6L FSI comes standard with the six-speed Tiptronic transmission. Other markets will feature a base 160hp 1.8L TSI model and two diesel variants developing 140 and 170hp respectively.

I like it. Gus you probably think that windows are too small right?
Interior is a bit simple but okay. Exterior is sexy.
I like it too. Windows are too small…
Just kidding, it’s just a style preference. But you’re talking to someone who drives a convertible, so what can I say?
This is the headlight style the Jaguar should have used…
They should have called it something other than the CC. Throughout Europe that’s the code for a retractable hardtop, often referred to as a Convertible Coupe, with an accent on that last e for added pretentiousness.
Nice looking exterior but the interior looks like the existing Passat’s which is excessively cheap looking and to the touch.
This is nice but has anybody noticed that if you take those sagging lumps off the headlights it looks like a mercedes cl.
And Lincoln MKS.
What about Cissy?
it looks nice…..and i think it will also be reasonably priced hopefully
What is the price range, does anyone know? Haven’t been able to find it. I have the 2006 Passat with the luxury package but the 2009 CC looks like something I have to have. Love the lines and features.
