Video: Jaguar’s new XF on the open road

Posted on Monday 3 September 2007

The styling of Jaguar’s new XF has been a letdown when you consider how stunning the original concept version looked. This latest video of the car out on the road shows it in a much better light compared to the initial studio shots but there’s no avoiding the “startled deer” style of the ugly headlights. Forget it, they’re done.
Those headlights are ghastly, right off a Hyundai.
What a pisser. How can a company that designs something like the XK series make such a horrible mistake. It’s just a shame.

I saw one of hese driving down the M40 a couple of days ago - lokoed pretty good on the open road.

I quite like the styling, While Jaguar traditionalists might cry heresy - I think the car’s style works

When I first saw the headlights I thought Jaguar had lost it. After seeing the video I’m changing my mind. They seem to give the front end a bit of character, and allowed the designers to add more curves to the hood.

Pity Jaguar didn’t have enough money to build the XF out of aluminum, though.
