According to latest reports, the production version of the W427 is headed to the UK where it will be sold as a flagship version of Vauxhall’s VXR8. The new car will be priced at about £55,000 ($110,000) when it goes on sale in September and will output more than 570hp and 640Nm of torque, reports AutoExpress.
With these numbers the car will be able to sprint from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds and easily reach an electronically controlled top speed of 155mph. This puts it in BMW M5 and Audi RS6 territory, the exact segment Vauxhall is targeting for the new model.
A company spokesman revealed the car is in the early stages of development and that it will feature a number of components developed from the racing version.
Performance features of the concept include a carbon fiber rear spoiler, six-piston brakes, 20in wheels, a custom induction system and an uprated limited-slip differential, clutch and Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual gearbox. The car also features Magnetic Ride Suspension but it’s unclear what specifications the UK model will have.

Yes, but an M5 costs much less than that here (about $89,000). What does an M5 cost in England?

The price I have found listed is 65250 UKP - or about $130500 USD
Not sure if this is list or on the road though - Its a bit outside my bracket to worry about!!
Makes the VXR8 very cheap!
Hmm......... think its time to move to the US as thats before you think about fuel costs!

that's the first thing that hit me, for this kind of money you can get M5 or S6.
But that z06 engine is one of a kind, I drove impala SS with 300hp vette engine,
and it was more than enough for me. Can't imagine what this car can do, and I doubt
m5 will be able to keep up with it.

Yeah but it's still a GM car, and not to knock American or Australian products, but the M5 is a big step above. As long as this car is MUCH cheaper and can still keep up, it will sell...

you are looking at close to AU$230,000 for an M5 in Oz so comparatively it is good value for a similar powered car. The extra AU$100,000 you can spend tarting it up !

this wont sell in the UK though the fuel costs will be far too high...single figures I reckon to run it and the people who can afford to spend £250 a week on fuel will have enough money to buy a Bentley or an Aston
