Mercedes-Benz in possible talks with Aston Martin

Now that all negotiations between Mercedes-Benz and Fiat are off, there’s rumors the premium carmaker is in talks with the owners of Aston Martin. Although previous talks surrounded the possibility of platform sharing and the co-development of new powertrains, these latest talks are said to about investment options.

A group of officials from Mercedes have allegedly visited Kuwaiti financial firm Investment Dar, 50% owners of Aston Martin, reports Kuwait-based al Qabas daily. According to the source, the talks surrounded common investment opportunities and that a delegation from Aston Martin is expected to visit Mercedes’ Stuttgart headquarters next week.
