Future Lexus IS-F 350 to get Brembo brakes

Posted on Friday 13 April 2007

brembo_spin_main.jpgItalian auto supplier Brembo has won a contract with Toyota to equip a new Lexus model with its high-performance brakes. According to Reuters, the new Lexus model that will feature Brembo’s braking system will be the upcoming Lexus IS-F, whose production is scheduled to start in the second quarter of the year.

Brembo is already one of the most well known brands in braking technology, equipping affordable performance vehicles such as the Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi Evo, right up to the supercar arena with the likes of Ferrari and Porsche.

This is in fact the first ever contract between Brembo and Toyota and its Chairman Alberto Bombassei admits that the contract will give a boost to revenues this year. The deal might also mean that Toyota’s future sports car, possibly the next-generation Supra, will also feature the Italian stoppers.
