Ford’s popular Fiesta is nearing the end of its product-cycle but to spruce things up before its replacement arrives Ford has released a limited edition ‘Black Magic’ model. The new hatch is limited to just 1,500 examples and is available with either a 70hp 1.2L unit or a 80hp 1.6 motor.
Differentiating the car from the regular fleet includes the special ‘Panther Black’ metallic paint, 16in alloy wheels powder-coated in black, new front fog lights, and unique front and rear bumpers.
The car also sports tinted glass, aluminum trim on the center console and leather cladding for the steering wheel and gearshift knob. Other features include a premium stereo system, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors and performance tires.
There are reports Ford may drop the longstanding Fiesta nameplate when it replaces the small hatch late next year with a new model based on the Verve Concept car.

1.6L developing 80bhp only? That’s miserable.
I don’t care how much power they manage to squeeze out of that engine, this is just wrong. A 1.6 L engine in a car is plain wrong, let alone a car that is supposed to be a limited edition. Why bother with the performance tires? This car is pathetically weak, the tires are just a waste of money.
Heck the 1.6 L. push rod Kent engine made that, where’s the progess. Dropped the ball again.
I think I can make a 1.6L engine out of a soda bottle that makes more than 80hp.
Almost as a side note in this article, we see Ford about to drop a famous, well-known nameplate after successfully selling hundreds of thousands of units. AGAIN! Didn’t they learn anything from the debacle that was the re-naming of the last Taurus? In order to complete the similarity, I expect them to launch two almost identical new cars, neither of which completely replaces the Fiesta, neither of which is called the Fiesta and neither of which sells as well as the Fiesta…
Regardless of what you all think, I think that this car is awesome and I’m definitely putting my name on the shortlist if and when one comes out!
