The Fiesta will initially be available with a range of petrol and diesel engines. Entry-level models will come with a 60hp 1.4L petrol engine and will be followed by a 115hp 1.6L unit. Diesel fans will get two 1.25L units developing 60hp and 80hp respectively. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual or a new Durashift automatic. The cars also come with Ford’s new EPAS electronic steering to help save fuel.
The new Fiesta is the first major product of Ford’s new global product development process and it will eventually be sold in China and North America, where it will be styled as a sedan. Ford is yet to announce if the hatch will be sold alongside the sedan variant, which itself isn’t set to arrive until the end of the decade, but interest for the car outside of Europe so far has been much strong than previous models.

thats it... im packing my bags... any one know of any open positions for a junior electrical engineer in england? preferably in power generation...
honestly, i've already decided that i want this car. I think id go with the 3 door... but for the love of god ford,... if you dont bring the hatch I WILL KILL MYSELF. or move to england.
....i cant see the next focus hatch being this damned sexy... but if it is... its going to be a coin toss between this and the next focus.
i think that this car would sell well here with just the 1.6L, with and without ecoboost. 170 hp sub compact? yes please.

I rented and drove the four-door Fiesta 1.4 diesel in Italy for two weeks in October, 2007. It was a great little car - getting over 70 miles per gallon of diesel fuel. We put over 2,000 kilometers on it and never had any problem. Ford USA won't even acknowledge that the car exists. How many more Expeditions do we need to buy before this great little car is available to us?
