Ford has added a new flagship model to its Mondeo line-up with the introduction of the new Titanium X Sport range topper. The new designation adds a number of styling accessories to the Mondeo, along with a brand new diesel engine.
Available in five-door hatchback and estate body styles, Titanium X Sport models feature aggressively styled 18in alloys, twin chromed exhaust tailpipes and body-colored side skirts. The interior is also themed with sporty red stitching on leather and Alcantara seats, plus a leather steering wheel and gear shift lever. Aluminum trim in the standard models is replaced with new piano black inlays.
Customers can choose from two powerful and efficient powertrains. The existing five-cylinder 220hp 2.5L turbocharged petrol, or a new diesel, which is expected to account for the majority of sales. The oil-burner delivers an additional 35hp over the current 2.0TDCi unit, outputting a total 175hp from its 2.2L of displacement. It will accelerate the Mondeo from 0-100km/h in 8.4 seconds and emits just 165g of CO2 per km.
Both engines come with six-speed manual gearbox and insurance groups are 12E for diesel and 14E for petrol models.
The Mondeo Titanium X Sport’s standard equipment includes an in-dash six-stacker CD player, voice control, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, front and rear park assist, dual-zone climate control and a Ford Power start button. Additional upgrades over the standard Titanium include advanced Bluetooth connectivity, bi-xenon lights, alloy pedals and sports suspension.
Available to order now in the UK, prices start at £23,355 ($46,166) for the five-door hatch and £26,605 (52,590) for the wagon.

Yes, thanks, that’s great to hear about a great looking car made by an American company not available in America.
Thanks.
LOL, Every US person says that. Anyway, what about the Titanium name?
I can’t think of anything better in my head. only wish the engines were Titanium.
I agree this is another excellent looking and dirivng car from Ford. However the reference to “just 165g of CO2 per km” implies this is a very low figure, when it is not. The BMW 320D emits 128 g/km and even the 520D emits only 136 g/km. This makes a big when it comes to company car tax in the UK. Mercedes new diesel engines due out soon will have similar figures, and Audi won’t be too far behind with improvements.
If Ford are serious about stealing sales from these “Premium” brands they must improve their fuel economy quickly, and across the range not just one feebly under-powered “ECOnetic” model.
Ditto Gus. The Europeans get this. We get the Five Hund… sorry, the Taurus….
